Been using the gym now for about 30 odd years... We used to have different music in the mornings as the average age is about 69 a bit of 60's or 70s music would be appreciated.. Or put radio gold on..... Plus if any young uns came in they wear ear pod anyway..

My daughter has been attending swimming lessons here for 4 years. She moved to the big pool but shallow end and was progressing so well but she had a teacher who wasn’t good and her percentage of progress went down loads. I changed teachers and I moved her to a lesson with Joy and she progressed again and was in the deep end and she was doing well. Then there was a change in lessons and mixed group so she went back down to the shallow end and hasn’t progressed any further in the last 6 months. There is hardly any communication with certificates and what they have achieved. There are so many groups on at the same time the car park is full and have to park outside the car park. I’m going to be moving my girl to another swimming centre, I’m paying out for a swimming lesson where she isn’t achieving anything. The only decent swimming teacher is Joy.

It was a normal sunny day in August. I walked through the front entrance, went to the swimming changing area after shouting good morning to the friendly reception team. My children got changed into their swimming clothes and queued up for their lesson. Once the kids were in the pool, I walked upstairs to look upon them from the elevated viewing platform. One of the other people in the viewing area farted and it was a vile terrible stench. I had to keep sniffing the aftershave from my t shirt to mask the gaseous horrid pewtrid smell. The kids lesson was good as they practiced many of the techniques and improvement was shown. After the lesson, I went downstairs to meet my children. They then had a shower and proceeded to clothe themselves in the changing cubicles. My daughter then used the hair dryer to dry her silky shiny hair. Once the hair had been dried, we went to the lovely reception and booked a fun time session for the following day whilst chatting about holidays with the friendly staff. I said my farewells for the day and we walked out of the door. We entered the car through various different doors and drove home and reflected on the good times we had just shared at the greatest swimming establishment that Mansfield has ever seen.

Absolutely love coming here! It's great for families and kids. We go for the family fun sessions, and it's perfect for little ones, the bigger kids get a bit rowdy at times though. Especially at the earlier sessions. The changing rooms are nice but could do with a bit of updating, especially in the disabled spaces as they are a bit worn out. Otherwise, no complaints. The staff are friendly and approachable. The pools are always guarded too.

Love this place. Only so swimming and currently recovering from surgery and missing it like crazy. All the staff are so helpful. Lifeguard Ashley is the one that gave me the encouragement to go so frequently. I have now managed to build that up with completing my first 2miles that I managed before going into hospital. Now just need to hurry up and recover so I can get back to this brilliant place and get the last few lbs off to hit my 4 stone target. If you are in any doubt about joining, I would say just try it for a couple of times a week and you will be hook.

Only one sheffield stand for locking up bikes, so if you show up and it is in use, tough. Sister site has 10! Also, pool changing rooms often smell of urine. That said, the pool and gym are clean, as are gym changing rooms. Ample lockers (both the storage and changing room kind), all staff helpful and friendly. Nice range of equipment too.
