It's a pleasant walk up the tor, not challenging. Views from the top are great, perfect place to sit and contemplate the nature and life :) Best to park at Pork Hill Car Park (free to park) and the walk is about 45-60 min via the Windy Post Granite Cross at moderate pace.
Beautiful tor on Dartmoor with plenty of places to park around its base. There are many paths you can take and during summer with all the ferns growing high makes this a beautiful walk. The tor has many peaks with large outcrops of granite. Up close the granite is very interesting with many quarts crystals and a variety of colours from the lychen growing on the rocks.
A great spot with brilliant views across the Dartmoor landscape - fascinating rock formations at the peak and not too far a walk from nearby roads with space to park - we visited on the journey from Dorset to Cornwall - gave us a great opportunity to stretch our legs and get some fresh air - well worth a visit!
Amazing views from here & is in a reasonable walking distance from Pork Hill carpark taking in Windy Stone Cross on your way. Such a lovely place. Just sit & watch the world go by or watch the animals grazing.

Great place on Dartmoor for walking
A readily accessible Tor which is almost Dartmoor in miniature. Firstly it is a fine stack of rocks in its own right. There is a flat grassy area on the top between outcrops. It has had granite removed from it as evidenced by the shallow water filled quarries. It has wonderful views looking Northward. There are also Piskie legends associated with it. Also Druid association. The only Tor hit by German bombs during the war.
