When I give just 1 star for service, this is not a criticism of the waitress who really did her best. However, we had to wait nearly an hour for our food, which is simply not good enough. When the food arrived it was quite good. The kitchen service must improve, however.
Absolutely dreadful service and less than mediocre food.. We had pre ordered which was checked twice when we first arrived, before being put through to the kitchen. We had a long wait for starters. After which there was another very long wait for the next course. We cleared our own plates to an empty table nearby. The restaurant was not full with only one large party and most tables empty. There was a distinct lack of visible staff. Eventually our mains came out in ones and twos with long delays between. Some people had finished before the whole table was served. The steak was overcooked and tough. Another very long wait for desserts. We cleared our own plates again and had to prompt the waitress for our desserts. She was busy socialising with the table next to ours who appeared to be friends of hers, judging by the conversation. When the first dessert arrived there was a tiny pot filled only half way with custard and we were told there was only enough custard left for one more dessert. Two berry cheesecakes came out without any berries in sight. This was rectified when pointed out and a couple of berries added to each plate. Two sundaes came out and then a very long wait for the next one. When it came, it was in a dish half the size of the others, with no apology or explanation. Finally after all but one of the 5 desserts had been eaten, the final dessert arrived at the table with a very tiny amount of custard in the pot. It had clearly been overheated and was all over the sides and outside of the pot. I was offered ice cream or squirty cream as well as it was obvious that there was barely any custard, but I declined as I don't actually like either. Which is why I pre ordered custard. We have enjoyed our Xmas get together here for many years but I can categorically say we will not be returning any time soon. The manager wasn't interested in the slightest when some of the issues were mentioned on payment. We left no tip and to be fair they were lucky we even paid for such a shocking meal
Amazing service from Sharon. Lovely fast and speedy. As you can see from the pic, the kids couldn't eat all their food as they were too full. Worth 5 stars. Would give her more if I could. Go on girl. Spin that wheel :)
Today's dining experience was highly enjoyable. The half chicken, accompanied by sage and onion chips, was exceptionally flavorful and tender, and the chips were of excellent quality. Our server, Cat, provided outstanding service and was an absolute delight. There were also some great tunes playing!
Went for Sunday lunchtime at 12pm for 7 people, including 2 children. Service was overall quite slow due to lack of staff. Long time between being sat down and then taking out drinks order. Equally long time before taking our orders. When it came to ordering food we then found out that there were almost no chicken dishes available including the half roast chicken - should have been told this when we were first given our menus. We only knew that ribs were off the menu due to a sign at reception area. Salad bar OK but not enough pasta. Mains came out reasonably quickly and we're mostly OK. My gluten free meal came out with breaded onion rings on the plate. Sirloin Steaks were not up to scratch according to a couple on our table due to them having a lot of fat on them and rather gristly. Took a very long time between finishing meal, getting dessert menus and them taking our order for desserts. We would have skipped the desserts had our youngest child at the table not wanted their included dessert. Have found different Harvesters having same problem with slow service this year and overpriced for the quality, portion sizes, and lacklustre service. Hungry Horse now much better and much cheaper in comparison.

Had a lovely meal here, the staff were more than accommodating and allowed us to order flatbreads on a Sunday when they should only be Mon-Sat. So glad you can do your own salad again!
A typical harvester nestled into the shop and food premises around the marina. Parking is plentiful and free which is a bonus. The seating area was a little worn and tired and was taped at one corner which is why the review is 4*. Generally the tables and seats were clean as was the menus. Annoyingly though the salad bar is no long help yourself so you have to dictate to the server what you would like. Soft drinks are free refills and the area was tidy and clean. Food was hot and served quickly with plenty of choice from the menu, and the staff appear helpful and willing to help with food choices. Puddings are large and the children’s portions are quite a size so there’s no need to fill up on bread rolls. If the restaurant could sort out the decor then this is a good place for family dinning.
Hmm I honestly don't know which side I fall on this one. I found staff slightly obnoxious and rude regardless of the "covid" there is no excuse in my eyes for bad customer service Overall price for food was good £42.00 for 2 adult meals and a kids meal and 3 drinks cutlery was dirty(you can see from the picture) even the portion sizes were not the best but hey ho what do you expect from mediocre, and cleanliness in the toilets not the best either
