Fantastic pub the staff are brilliant, always smiling and welcoming. The new food is amazing, fresh and really good value for money!

Called in on the way through. Very friendly pub. Fish was delicious and the steak & ale pie. Only criticism is they come with seasoned chips. Rather be told that and had a choice and could have been crispier.

We arrived for our reservation at 1:15 we had to wait for ages to even get a menu and when we received it, it was very dull. If I'd have seen it before hand I wouldn't of booked a table at all. I did email the pub and sent a message to their fbk page asking for a menu but had no response. We didn't receive our starters till 30 minutes after we ordered them and our mains took nearly 2 hours. I am heavily pregnant and we also had a child with us. We eventually left at 3:30pm and left nearly all of our food as it was pretty awful. The chips were completely burnt the fish was soggy, my MIL said her food had no taste and her partner said his food was nothing special. When we enquired where our food was we got told its coming. 20mins later it eventually did. They even tried to charge us for a dessert we never had. Whilst in the dining room a pig ignorant man decided to watch football on full volume on his tablet and his friend was talking and swearing loudly. Yet it seemed perfectly acceptable to the staff. Just an absolute joke. Thank you for ruining our mothers day Lawton arms, we now ordering a takeaway for tea as we have barely eaten.

First visit but won't be the last. Really good food.. One of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Good selection of cask ales and friendly, attentive staff.

We used to like this pub and only a few months ago the food was lovely but sadly it seems to have gone downhill seemingly since they’ve had a new chef. He doesn’t dress like a chef, looks scruffy and unhygienic,, cooking food then walking into the bar, stroking a dog, does not look the part at all. The fish and potato wedges they served us today was greasy and undercooked (some wedges were raw) But when we told the lady behind the bar she looked angry and said “I don’t know what to say to that” strange attitude. She actually expected us to pay for it and When we quite rightly refused she threatened to get the manager onto us! Very unprofessional and rude .. we won’t be going again!

Nice meal here. Reasonable price for a decent size portion. Tasty food, bit of a wait but cooked fresh so I didn't mind.

Me and my partner ate here on a Sunday, we asked about availability on facebook messenger and recieved a quick response to say they had booked us in, the pub/restaurant is very nice inside clean, traditional with a modern feel, we were greeted by a lady at the bar who quickly seated us and was attentive throughout our dining, she didnt get in our face during eating which was nice as we were able to enjoy our food with each course. The food was great! My partner had prawn cocktail, steak and chips. I had a feta starter and mixed meat roast and we both had the brownie with icecream (or you can have cream). My food was delicious the meat was juicy, the Yorkshire was crispy, the veg was cooked perfectly not mushy but firm it was cauliflower cheese, sugar snap peas, carrots and red cabbage which are served on the side, I would say the roasts could of been crispy-er, I had some hidden skin on potatoes which were lovely but ablot with the roasts together, gravy topped it off nicely. The brownie was more of a chocolate cake than brownie but still very tasty, moist and chocolatey! With a chocolate sauce. My feta starter was light, crispy on a bed of rocket salad and balsamic glaze delicious. We ended out evening in the seated bar area with a guiness and hot choc baileys. Friendly atmosphere with locals and staff.
