By far the best pub in Brighton, come here regularly with my partner and I always bring my friends when they visit from London. The best smoked meats we’ve ever had, I’m also obsessed with the quesadillas and tacos, but genuinely every dish is 10/10. Service is always friendly and fast. Overall a cosy, friendly pub with the best food you’ll ever eat

We’ve come here for chill drinks a few times and it’s a great vibe. But we came for the Thanksgiving dinner they had and it was incredible. The food was great and the service was fantastic, they were very accommodating. Also, they had pumpkin pie which I haven’t had in so long! Easy 5 star.

I don't often write reviews, but once in a blue moon I come across somewhere unusually good. The cheerful, charmingly scruffy Argyle Arms is just such a place. If you're vegetarian or vegan look away now - but for those of us who like to eat meat every now and then, this place is a treat. This friendly, unfussy pub in a forgotten corner of town is genuinely welcoming and unpretentious, has a great playlist and the service is superb (we'll come back to that). The menu is Meat Heaven, but unlike rivals that offer much but deliver little, The Argyle's kitchen knows what to do with its animal protein. Beef is often a bugger - easy to cook badly, hard to do well. Here, it was exceptional. Between a table of five, we had pork belly, chicken wings, beef brisket, ribs and cod loin. All were melt-in-the-mouth perfect. One of our party is an outstanding cook, and is very hard to please, but even he was full of praise. They don't do greens and they don't do puddings (shock horror) - they do meat, which they smoke on the premises, fries and a few simple sides. It really is terrific. To cap it all, every member of staff who served us really cared - not in that pointless, tick-box, is-everything-OK sort of way, but with warmth born of a genuine desire to please. Brighton is full of best-kept secrets - this may be its best best-kept secret.

Booked a table for a 21st birthday. We all agreed its the best pub food we have had, ever! Two meat eaters had the big smoke platter. This looked and smelt amazing. Burnt ends, brisket, smoked sausage, all cooked to perfection. The veggies had the moving mountains burger, this was the tastiest burger ive ever had! All in all a fantastic afternoon, great food, lovely pub!

Popped in here for dinner with friends the other night. Service was excellent, drink selection good & the food...was just awesome. We shared 2 of the platters between 4 & it was more than enough, the garlic sausage & brisket were standouts, but everything was just excellent. Oh & the dry rub chicken wings are 100% brilliant. Cannot fault, would go again in a heartbeat

Started off as a nice experience in the pub, the girls behind that bar were lovely and served great drinks. Later that evening clearly there was some commotion between one of girls and manager/ maybe owner… the poor girl that had served me was crying and looking scared and just not ok while this woman was shouting an screaming at her. The pub is a nice local in brighton but clearly ran by horrible bullies who are just vile to the staff and clearly have no care for the staff wellbeing. DEFINITELY WILL NEVER BE BACK AND I HOPE THAT POOR GIRL RESIGNS

Lovely little local pub and very friendly owners, if you’re lucky you might even get to meet their gorgeous dog! Despite living in the area for several years the old Argyle was never appealing and the change in the place is amazing and goes to show how hard the owners Nick and Juliette have worked to build the place up again. Great selection of drinks and food and friendly atmosphere!

It as pretty quiet when we went in here and it didn't have much atmosphere so I wasn't sure if we should stay but I'm glad we did. We picked a spicy prawn dish, a beef in five spice and so e dumplings in chilli oil. All were delicious but the stand out dish was the chilli oil dumplings which were sensational. I got chatting to the owner, asking for the recipe, and we talked about a visit I had made to China. As we were leaving he came running out after me to give me a can of special Chinese pearl tea which was lovely of him :-)

This pubs is so much nicer since it was taken over a few years ago. Lovely owners, decent beer selection. Comfy seats and sofas. Clean and tidy. Teles for football or rugby. A few tables outside.

I’ve lived opposite this pub for a year now and it’s a lovely environment. great drinks, kind owners and a great pub dog! they do really good student deals and the atmosphere is so relaxing and welcoming. the decor is really warm and homely and a lot of thought and effort has gone into the vibe! they’re great neighbour’s and make sure their pub is a safe environment. Really appreciate having this place near by!
