Had a Friday night at Drakes. Staff were wonderful and the room was great - huge pillows and lovely bedding. Also location was excellent for the seafront and shopping.
We arrived early after walking from the train station to this gem of a hotel. At first, we thought it a bit far from the centre but not really. We discovered it was an easy walk. Our bags were taken up to our room while we were out. We had a room with a bath by the windows. Not too practical but how often do you take a bath in a hotel room overlooking Brighton beach? Not too often, so we did. Service at the hotel was excellent. The breakfast was included in our price and ordered off the menu, very generous and very good. Quite a small bathroom so be mindful of that, at least in our room 15. The view is spectacular and the noise from the road was not too bad on the third floor. I highly recommend this hotel!
The room we stayed in was too small for my liking and had a toilet in the shower. The sides were sticky and there were no windows that you could look out of due to frosting/blocking the windows. This is the 3rd hotel I've stayed in this week and it fell short of expectations. The bed was comfortable Location is good as it's right by the pier. I wouldn't stay here again.
We loved this bright room with stunning sea views and bathtub in one window. Quirky design but it worked really well. Comfy bed, helpful staff and easy parking.
My wife and I had a lovely short stay at Drakes while visiting Brighton. The room was lovely and bright, with good decor and a great ensuite. The views over the seafront were great and the staff were wonderful. We interacted with 3 different members of staff on our stay and each of them were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. Would stay again, next time for longer! Keep up the great work guys, thank you for a lovely trip.
Very nice small hotel with spectacular sea views from the rooms on the front. Rooms are spotlessly clean and nicely equipped. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Good location only a few minutes walk from the Lanes. The only reason for 4 rather than 5* is the substantial road noise in the front bedrooms: single-glazed old sash windows and a busy road are not a good combination.
There are people we meet, meals we eat and places we visit that are greater than the sum of their parts. Drakes somehow managed to be all three of these things at once. The team behind this splendid boutique hotel should take a huge pat on the back for turning a decent hotel in a nice spot in Brighton into a place worth savouring. The details in the service takes ‘above and beyond’ and turns it into Buzz Lightyear’s ‘To infinity and beyond’. Letting them know that this was a significant event for us was enough to unleash the full generosity of everyone on site. The room was everything it promised to be- the sea view from our bay windows was truly spectacular with everything you would expect of a four star hotel (and more). The welcome on arrival ensured that while we weren’t pestered with detail, we had all we needed to make the most of our stay. Incredibly welcoming staff. We had 24 hours there, and came away feeling like it was a weekend away. Breakfast was fantastic, on demand, delivered to the room. Cocktails the night before were created rather than simply poured. We will be back. X
Fabulous staff , lovely clean rooms. Nothing was to much trouble. Very nice breakfast. Rooms clean and fresh everyday. Attention to detail in every aspect. Definitely return again. Near to shops lovely restaurants and entertainment. Nothing I could fault. Cocktails great, taxi service great.
My husband and I stayed for one night bed and breakfast (07/09/2022) I chose this hotel for a few reasons, location right opposite the sea and that it offered parking the other being the reviews and it didn't disappoint! All the staff were exceptionally friendly, polite, professional and helpful. I would like to mention Jo who greeted us on our arrival, what a lovely lady, friendly and welcoming and a credit to Drakes hotel. Connie who served us at breakfast was so friendly and efficient. Thank you all once again and we will definitely be back, next time I will try a room with a sea view. Many thanks Sheridan
The hotel is right on the seafront, beautiful views across the Brighton beaches and perfect view of the pier. A short walk gets you into the main hustle and bustle of Brighton surrounded by good pubs, restaurants and people. The staff in the hotel were impeccable, very welcoming and made us feel like there was nothing we could ask for that was too much trouble for them. The available services that came inclusive of the price were above and beyond what were expected. The reception area is also a 24 hour bar with choice of drinking in the seating area or taking your drink up to your room. The room and all the amenities were cleaned to top condition there isn't anything that can be faulted at this hotel. The air conditioning was a blessing with the heat we had yesterday and the bartender put the fans on for us when we were sat having drinks in the lobby (little legend saw we were hot and stuffy). 10/10 would recommend anyone to come here and we will definitely be coming back again for a longer stay. Thanks for making our trip to Brighton have a brilliant welcome start.
