Wonderful people working here. Nice, friendly, good looking :) Edited: I loved the food. I ordered the curry dish and it was great! Other people in our Companion had burgers so big they couldn't even finish it! Love the place! They are doing a great job and I am sure that I'll be back next time in Burgess Hill!

This is our daughter and son-in-law local pub...we were visiting from the Isle of Wight and popped in here for a drink and a bit of lunch...food was amazing..I had salmon New potatoes and fresh vegetables and it was cooked perfect.. my daughter and son-in-law had burgers which were also very well presented and delicious...my husband had scampi and chips which again was delicious... Drinks are good prices and a lovely spacious garden with ample seating . Plenty of parking available. The icing on the cake was the landlord greeting you personally when you walk in .. highly recommend..lovely friendly pub and fantastic food ❤️❤️

Lazy chef, potatoes and parsnips were not par boiled before roasting resulting in rock hard potatoes and parsnips, very undercooked veg, el dente would have been edible. Unfortunately ! will not be going there again

Decided to give this pub a second chance but was completely and utterly disappointed. As soon as we walked in, my friend and I were greeted to a stench of a smell which could only be described as “shit” coming from the toilets which has to be a health and safety issue. I had a pint where a 1/4 of it was foam. I mean I like a head on a pint but this was ridiculous. I’ve only given it two stars as the interior was nice and there are two pool tables, and that I knew people in there, so there’s obviously a demand for it. I didn’t try the food as I was too put off by the smell coming from the toilets. Shame as the prices in the pub are actually quite reasonable, but I don’t think I’ll come here again.

This pub advertises rugby matches on its website, so I phoned up and booked a table for the Eng vs NZ game. When I arrived and asked for my table, the barmaid looked at me like I was mental. Apparently they *don't* reserve tables for you and you just pick one that's free (fortunately there were lots available but I'm not sure what would have happened if all were occupied?). We asked if they were doing food and the two staff members had no idea, just looked at each other in bewilderment (if you were working Saturday night wouldn't you know this? One of them had to go to the kitchen and ask). Anyway, the rugby was starting in 30 minutes and they assured us that it would be on the TVs. Kick off came and went and nothing happened - the two staff members just didnt have a clue what was going on. A load of us left because we knew it was a hopeless cause and they weren't very interested in helping us. They were nice but useless. The pub seems like it could be a good place but its too disorganised for me to bother exploring again. Dont advertise rugby on your website if you dont intend to put it on.

I personally didn't rate the choice of drinks on offer but it caters for a younger male crowd if that's your thing. Couldn't fault the service, nor the prices.

So got there for 11am, stated opening time but had to attract the attention of the owner who said "I'd forgotten the time" that's ok... We then sat down to be allowed to start a conversation to be told: A we don't have any Milk for Tea or Coffee. B we don't have a chef today.... So we had to leave, sorry I won't be rushing back.
