Good food, drink, and service. Cool history too with it being a really old pub that the community saved from being taken away. The place would use a re org and deep clean though. But cluttered, messy, and a couple chairs wobbling like crazy. Still a big fan though.

I had brunch at Village, and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious — fresh, well-presented. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and welcoming, lovely and friendly atmosphere!

Fabulous pub! Quirky, eclectic interior with a good range of drinks on tap, plus some interesting cocktails. Get there before 7pm and some of the prices are cheaper too. And the Thai food is outstanding - great spicy portions at a very reasonable price. A total gem.

My first ever time here. Was greeted with friendly banter at the host station which made me feel comfortable. Waiting Staff were great, friendly and honest! Wasn’t sure if I should have the roast chicken or Roast beef, with advice from the waiting staff I opted for the chicken. I certainly wasn’t disappointed! Food was great! I asked for extra gravy which was no problem. Awesome ambiance, I’ll say again.....all the staff that I came into contact with were just great, no pretence and so down to earth which can be a rarity in Brighton!! Excellent pub overall!

Delicious and nutritious vegan breakfast and excellent coffees with plant-based milks on offer. Will definitely be back!

Unfortunately had a different experience from most other reviewers. We went on a Saturday around midday. We had our orders taken for food about 15 mins after sitting. It took around 15-20 mins for our iced coffees to be served, and we had to wait an hour for our food (4 breakfasts and pancakes). It was pretty busy, but we could see other people getting served at a reasonable time. We wouldn’t have been that put off if the staff had been apologetic about the wait, or come over to just let us know what was going on/see if we wanted anymore drinks or anything in the meantime. We had to ask twice when it got to around 50 mins and were told it was being plated, but 10 more mins later and it still wasn’t out. When it did come, none of us particularly enjoyed it. A lot of the potatoes on my hash were so fried and hard I couldn’t stick a fork in it.
