Hell on earth. Can’t get in to drop people off, can’t park and if you can it’s miles from where you need to be. Can’t find anything either this place is disgraceful, it’s appalling. My mother is 84 and immobile we come every month for respiratory appt. We’ve never yet worked out how we get in near to where she needs to be. I have to drop her anywhere I can get and hope she can walk far enough to find the place. They also keep changing clinic locations. Today she’s 20 mins late for her appt and is having to be wheeled by someone from the other side of the hospital. She doesn’t even know where she is. I can’t find her! It’s utterly shameful.

Went to new A & E under instructions from my GP. I was dreading it, but I can't tell you how much it has improved, beyond recognition. The new (temporary) unit is bright, airy and , comparatively, spacious. I was seen within 10 minutes to have BP checked, followed shortly by assessment, ECG and Doctor all within an hour. I was the taken to the Acute Assessment Unit where I stayed overnight. My bloods were taken and a CT scan carried out. All the staff were kind, courteous and professional. Could not fault my treatment

I’ve been an inpatient on a few occasions this past few months. Everything was kept clean. The staff were amazing, always talking to you like a person should be spoken to, never over you or about you. I was included in all decisions regarding my care and my opinions and thoughts mattered. Sadly the one thing I felt that brought the experience down was the food that was served to patients, it was absolutely diabolical. How they could say the food was nutritionally balanced is beyond me. The only meal that was edible, in my opinion, was breakfast and that’s purely because it’s too hard to mess up toast or weetabix!

I don’t normally leave reviews but this is my first time coming to NGH. My son came into paediatrics a&e due to his asthma the nurse that was attending to him was absolutely lovely. All the staff that came to attend to him were so nice and attentive. He is newly diagnosed with asthma so wondered if there was something I could do to prevent the hospital trips and Natalie who was attending to my son made me feel at ease and explained more about it and helped me feel that I was doing everything I could for him. The doctor Michelle checked him over was amazing and thorough the lady that took his bloods also amazing. I can not thank them enough for how brilliant they were with him. Thank you x

The hospital itself is great and the staff excellent. The biggest issue is parking. All wards visiting is at the same block of 2 hours so the limited amount of space is highlighted dramatically. I won't complain about the cost because it is comparable to council run car parks. It's just too small!!

I had to go to A&E today. The whole process was brilliant, especially with the new assessment place. I was seen and sorted within 4 hours & my area of concern was a specialist area. The surgeon who treated me was very polite, compassionate and worked quick and effectively. It was an overall good experience and I was super happy and grateful for my treatment.

I went to book into A & E and was assessed by a paramedic. I was then taken to SDEC where tests were carried out, medication reviewed and referral made to GP and hospital consultant. I was there about 4 hours but 2 of those i was waiting for blood tests. I was impressed. Staff were brilliant. I must add, it was a strike day but you would not have known.

I am grateful for all the help I received from the drs, nurses, midwives and other supporting members. I have been to this hospital many times for different health issues and also had my little girl there. Every time no matter how busy it was, everyone was polite and treated me with dignity. Of course there could be some improvement regarding booking appointments and filing procedures etc. But overall I couldn’t fault the care I received. Now since moving away I no longer receive such good care anymore.

Took my Grandson down last Saturday afternoon after being injured at rugby, can’t praise the staff enough including the paramedics outside A and E who went in and got a wheelchair for him as he couldn’t put weight on his foot. I arrived in my car and was helped by the paramedics to get him out and seated in the wheelchair. As he was 16 I was advised to go to the paediatrics entrance which would be quicker. In and out in an hour, staff are amazing, can’t praise them enough. James Lennon.
