I recently celebrated my birthday at The Great House in Sonning, and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. We booked one of the igloos for a party of five, including two children, and from start to finish the experience was outstanding. Our welcome was so warm and friendly..every member of staff made us feel looked after. A special mention has to go to our lovely and dedicated waitress, Kara. She was amazing from the moment we arrived: attentive, kind, and just an absolute credit to the team. She worked so effortlessly. An absolute star. Also the lovely gentleman who checked us in was equally brilliant, making us feel relaxed and taken care of straight away. The food arrived incredibly fast, and all off our steaks were cooked beautifully — huge credit to the chefs! The mocktails were super tasty too. Everything was just perfect, and it made my birthday feel really special. Thank you to everyone at The Great House for such a wonderful evening. We’ll definitely be back!

We visited on a busy Sunday afternoon to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was outstanding as always - we can always count on everything being delicious! My steak was cooked perfectly, and my husband's roast dinner was really tasty. The initial service was good, up until we we seated, then it went downhill from there. We had to keep asking to order drinks and food, and it was really difficult to catch anyone's eye so we ended up having to wave our arms in the air just to get someone to come over. The waitress apologised at the end, but we're not really sure what the problem was. We weren't even tucked away in a corner, so it's not clear why we kept being so forgotten. Other than that, the food was outstanding and at least we had a pretty view out over the river!

After going to the Coppa club in Streatly, I was curious to find out what the sister restaurant in Sonning was like, set in a very pretty riverside village, rear garden overlooks the river but you need to walk far down to see it properly. We had lunch on a very busy bank holiday Monday. The standard of food was still as good as the sister restaurant in Streetly but due to the smaller layout of this restaurant, it felt a tad more chaotic and crammed when very busy. The highlight of the garden is the stunning looking pods for more private dining. Definitely would like to try them out next time we visit.

The food, bar service, and venue were all excellent, creating a lovely atmosphere to dine in. However, the floor service could use some improvement. Our starter was delayed, a follow-on meal was missed, and we had to approach the tills ourselves to confirm an allergy-friendly dish. A sauce we ordered was also forgotten. While the experience was still enjoyable overall, a bit more attentiveness and warmth from the floor staff would really elevate the service to match the quality of the rest of the venue.

We had some mezze board which was okay and lamb as the main and it was delicious (although portions were not big) my friend had carbonara and said it was delicious. They are serving Hawkstone lager there with was very good. The cocktails have been delicious . We sat in the pod so the atmosphere was lovely. The garden goes straight out onto the pathway to river

Booked an igloo for dinner tonight and it was a memorable experience. We celebrated our brothers bday and he loved it too. Beautiful view in the night with lights on definitely photo worthy. Delicious food with lot of varieties to choose for vegans and vegetarians and served quickly, we didn't wait long. Reasonably priced. Certainly better than the London branch. Ps : Good place for celebrating your special days, view is better in the night. Ample Parking space available, also dog friendly.

Very good place in Sonning (12 min drive from reading) and big car parking available. Very good food, great ambiance and cleanliness and amazing food taste and even the price is decent. It’s real worth driving from reading. I had been two times and never got place in the garden or igloo. We tried different food and all was good. Starter - Seared King prawns Mains - Roasted Halibut fillet Dessert - Crème Brulee (worth a try ) Overall very good and will surely add in to my regular visiting restaurants

Nice outdoor area for dining, food for dinner was okay. For breakfast, poached egg over cooked and very sour due to too much vinegar, black pudding a bit dry (almost like microwaved), sausage tastes like bread rather than meat, table and the seat across the restaurant were full of breadcrumbs, glitters and cleaning product residue, not thoroughly cleaned from previous use.

Our experience in Coppa Club was without fault. We were welcomed by the hostess and looked after by a lovely waitress who ensured we had a pleasant experience throughout. The food was well prepared, tasty and portions were sufficient. We enjoyed squid as starter, the steak and a halibut for main and chocolate and miso mousse. They also offer range of tasty cocktails.

We had a lovely experience here, dinning in one of the igloos. So romantic! The igloo was cosy and warm, the service was great with the staff being super friendly and quick. The food was delicious, the crispy squid was so well done. The mains also good, steak very well made and tasty and the crab linguine great. The apple crumble is always a favourite, so comforting in winter. Be careful not to slip on the way to the igloo at night, it's a tad dark. Overall a lovely evening, we were both very pleased.
