    Shopped at George Fry today for a condenser tumble dryer, with my mum. The customer service was excellent. We were assisted by Jordan Connolly, who did a great job - he found exactly what mum needed, showed her how the machines work, explained what would be needed in terms of maintaining the filters, and was extremely professional, helpful and friendly. Recommended!

    Went into George Fry as Mum needed a new vacuum. The 2 guys in the shop were fantastic & gave some great advice & demonstrations.     I am very surprised and disappointed with the level of service I faced with… I had a problem with washing machine and my letting agent asked this company to fix it, while I advised my letting agent about the possible issue regarding the worn cable. However, the member of the George Fry made a conclusion that my washing machine cannot be fixed and needs to be replaced. When I asked about which particular parts of the washing machine are broken - I never received a proper response. I was advised by George Fry to replace my 4 year old washing machine by a new one for £550-600!!! I was very surprised and tried to find alternative engineer to check. Meanwhile, the letting agent asked George Fry to come back and fix the dishwasher machine and double check the issue with the washing machine (since I also called them directly and had to spend my time and nerves on trying to find out what exactly happened with the machine and which details needs to be replaced as I haven’t received any proper confirmation/documents of the check). What surprised me more - the way they checked the washing machine - tried to plug in in the socket and in the other socket to check if it works or no. Ta-da! It was not working (obviously since I advised before that the cable might be worn), so that’s how they concluded it’s broken and cannot be fixed anymore. Only replaced with them charging me of removing it, installing a new one and utilizing. When they came back, I suppose another member of staff checked the washing machine and fixed it properly- the cable was worn as I advised at the very beginning. Afterwards I was charged a full price for work without any compensation (I had to spend my working time to cal them a couple of times and figure it out). I am very disappointed with this level of service. They made a mistake that might have led me to spend ~£600 instead of the price of changing the cable. Imagine if it was not me, but someone naive who would believe that and spend £600? What would they do with the working machine then? I feel that they tried to fool me! Charge money for the removal and “utilization”, replacing that cheap cable and reselling a 4year old machine to someone. Business! Please note that it’s just my suggestion after this situation, obviously I don’t know what would they do…. But isn’t that shocking? No idea whether that was an unusual mistake, new and unprofessional member of staff, anything else…. But horrible customer service as I had to chase them and try to figure out about that situation. And they did not even try to compensate the problems and nerves they caused me… I do not trust this company anymore. Do not recommend at all! Not reliable.
