The staff!!!! Hospitality with a Hotel. From check-in to check out and everything in between it was amazing. The people at the counter, the janitor, in the restaurant, bar, everyone was extreme friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is nice, good location, rooms are everything you need, continental breakfast is good and the staff!! Did i mention the staff? :) . I found my future hotel whenever i come back to London!

Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. Great staff! Most comfortable beds ever. Amazing location. Bar makes amazing martini's and the restaurant makes a lovely breakfast. Would highly recommend for couples mixing work and pleasure!"

Great hotel experience from the time we checked in to leaving. We stayed at Ibis styles for 3 nights and was too good.we were met at the entrance by super friendly and helpful staff who make our check in process easy and guided us to our room. The staffs were really good and helpful at all times the the place was extremely clean. The bed was so comfortable. Excellent accommodation. Loads of space compared to a similarly priced hotel room. Location is perfect and accessible to central reading shops mall and all places easily. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

I will start with the good bit - the staff were really great. That was the only positive I can think of. The hotel itself it a ramshackle maze of old, weirdly shaped rooms. Every floor board creaks. In the first room I was put in the air con sounded like it was shacking itself to pieces, after a room swap the air con in the second room did not cool, it just re-circulated the air. I wasn't told when I booked the dinner, bed and breakfast rate, that the only dinner option was from the onsite Indian, the dinner was okay, but I did not really want Indian two nights in a row. The breakfast was a poor continental, a few cereals, bread, jams and some pastries, not really what I expected. On the first morning I was unable to get breakfast before I needed to leave as someone had not shown up to open the breakfast room. I also asked for an ironing board and iron to iron my shirt before work, but apparently the hotel only has one ironing board as they couldn't remember what room it was in. Maintenance wise most things looked bodged. Cleanliness wise, dirt and dust in the room, dirty grout in the bathroom. Very strange design of bathroom as the shower screen/toilet made it hard to get in and out the shower. Also pipes where the towel rail should be and a safety cover missing from the bathroom light. This hotel lets down the Ibis brand and will make me wary of booking an Ibis again without first looking at the reviews. Also worth mentioning, from A GDPR point of view, they left paperwork in the reception area with the details of all the guests, which could be seen by anyone in the reception area.

Quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. To be clear from the start this is in no way a reflection on the staff, the two of whom I dealt with were really friendly and accommodating. Once past the lobby however things take a turn for the worse. The room did not have air conditioning (it wasn't advertised, I had just assumed that a chain hotel would have it). The decor was beyond dated, the carpets had huge stains, the bathroom was falling apart - toilet roll holder falling off the wall, skirting/trim coming away from the wall, temperature knob on the shower seized. Breakfast was bread/toast, cereal or yoghurt with no cooked options, or at least none I was offered. I sincerely wish I'd paid £25 more for a different chain hotel with air con and less dilapidated rooms.

Manager organised my stay after some confusion on my part with dates. Martin was so helpful and stayed in email contact until it was corrected. Receptionist (didn't get her name) was fantastically friendly and effective, she had lots to deal with and got it all done in a very easy manner. The room was clean and tidy. I had a full sized bath, it felt so luxurious compared to the shower or small baths you get elsewhere. No cafe or restaurant on site but again the receptionist was very well informed and had plenty of suggestions before I checked Google. I would definitely stay again for the customer service and room quality. I was too busy enjoying it to take any pictures.
