Just left this place & have to say it was fantastic! Our room was a great size.. we arrived in time for happy hour, always a winner. We ate in the bar, recommend the railway curry, the lamb was super tender. & then a great breakfast, all for a very reasonable price. Thank you Abin & staff we will be back!

Do not park in their car parks. I received a fine despite putting my info into the computers at the front of the pub. My Indian meal now cost me £120. I will never ever step foot in that place again. Food is ok

Went for dinner on father's day the food was beautiful. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars was because where we sat was extremely noisy we couldn't have a conversation because we couldn't hear each other. The staff were lovely.

Exceptional 'desi pub' in a large historic building. Indian food served either as snacks or meals, with superb service. As you would expect there is a large range of lagers and drinks available. Definitely returning. Enjoy. M

Visited on Saturday 17th December 2022. Now the Elephant and Peacock serving Indian/Indian English fusion within a traditional pub setting. Food is excellent, well presented, well cooked and quite delicious, the fish and chips with masala peas and sauce is exceptional. Dessert menu is also excellent with what tasted like homemade kulfi, quite unusual nowadays as most is mass produced. Drinks are far better than most Indian restaurants, there's still the usual Cobra etc, but there's also cask beer due to it being a traditional pub. Decor is nice...on the pub side, the restaurant side really needs soft furnishings to absorb noise as it's very echoey and can get to an uncomfortable level of noise; however, this was almost certainly due to the time of year.... lots of Christmas parties were in. Service was good but could be improved, bottle of wine was placed on table...but it wasn't opened, no cutlery, long waits for drinks, nothing major and everything was sorted out once we asked. We'll definitely be back, although we'll wait until the Christmas/New Year party season is over.

Is now called the Elephant and Peacock. Went in for a pint after a walk in Youlgreave, had a lovely chat with bar man who made us feel very welcome. Place has had a modern refurbishment and looks great. Never had food but specialisers in Indian cuisine.

Great food, great atmosphere, good value and really friendly service. We had booked a specific table in the dog friendly section and we (and especially the dog!) received the warmest of welcomes. It all made for a truly lovely evening with our daughter and her partner. We'll be back.
