Just got back from our stay here. Amazing! It's perfect in every way. Everything you could need is there. We went to Alton Towers 2 of our days and it is literally 5-10 minute up the road. Perfect location for everything! Will most definitely be staying again! Thank you Catherine and James for our stay!

4 night break exploring the area. Nice and central to get to various places including some lovely walks and exploring Leek. Accommodation is great with everything you need to prepare your own meals or eat out. Everything clean and well decorated. Our only problem was the lack of a teapot but this was rectified at once by the owner. Would definitely recommend but do watch the stone walls as you turn in.

A very homely cottage, well equipped and very comfortable. Excellent base for a number of good dog walks (See Countryside Dog Walks : Peak District North & South). The local walks are also great for short or long walks. Great place to stay, we will definitely be back.

We are a family with a small dog and teenagers and we discovered that Barks offered us everything and more. With Alton Towers a short 10 minute journey away, we were able to drop the teens off at the very convenient Alton Towers drop off point (under 5 min walk to main entrance) and head off ourselves to explore the surrounding area - Dovedale Stepping Stones, the beautiful Trentham Gardens and the Ramblers Retreat in Dimmingsdale for a delicious lunch. We also took advantage of the dog walking service one day and joined our girls at Alton Towers which we thoroughly enjoyed. We booked directly with Catherine and James via their website and found them very easy to deal with and so accommodating. The bottle of Prosecco in the fridge when we arrived was a lovely touch and very well received. The cottage is surrounded by a lovely garden, perfect for sitting outside with a glass of wine after a busy day exploring. We found the cottage to be very clean and it had everything we needed. We will definitely return. It is perfectly situated for Alton Towers, exploring the beauty of the surrounding areas or if you're just looking for somewhere to chill, relax and recharge in the peaceful hamlet of Moneystone.

A nice cosy place to stay with a fully equipped kitchen, including dish washer and fridge freezer. There is a new flat screen TV in the living room. A drive big enough to park two car. One bedroom has a double bed and the other has a single bed and a bunk bed. The bathroom has a walk in shower. Only ten minutes drive to Alton Towers.
