A great pharmacy where Mads is excellent at sorting prescription requests and the more mundane queries helped by his great staff.

Worst pharmacy in Southampton. My last 3 prescriptions have all been missing items with no explanation.

The staff in this branch are extremely helpful and very knowledgeable as you would expect. The old saying "small enough to care, big enough to cope" says it all. Thanks.

Absolutely disgusting service from this chemist ….last Sunday my daughter was given a script from the eye hospital for a serious eye infection…because the hospital pharmacy was closed we were given a Script for the chemist to fill out…on Monday I took the script to boots in hythe and was informed that they didn’t have it in stock but they would order it in and would be ready on Tuesday and a call/text would alert me of this….no call came so I phoned the store to be told yes it was in and was awaiting a pharmacist to sign it off……I called them back to verify it was ointment and not drops ( as the assistant mentioned drops) and was told it was drops and that what was written on the script…I told the assistant that the hospital had definitely written ointment for my daughter (she has cerebral palsy and refuses me to put drops in her eyes) and if the script states drops then I will need the script back so I can return to the eye hospital….then I was told …oh dear no it does state ointment our mistake sorry we will order the ointment and it would be in on Wednesday and we will contact you when it’s ready….no call this morning so I called to check this medication was ready…was told that yes it was now in…I asked her to check That it was ointment and then told oops no it wasn’t in stock and they would have it ready tomorrow…I asked to speak to the pharmacist…and the assistant didn’t even have the decency to tell me she would get him to the phone ..she left me thinking she had ended the call…I was about to explode when the pharmacist came on the phone and told me he was covering for the store and that he would look on the system …and apart from telling me to calm down ( most women will not do that when told by a man) told me that sure enough the ointment is in and ready for collection once labelled …had I not blown my top and asked for him then my daughter would have had yet another day of not getting the medication into her sore eye…. I told him someone was extremely incompetent doing their job…and the excuse is they are short staffed my husband is going in to collect as I do not trust myself to not have a very loud word in someone’s ear in front of anyone who happens to be in the shop…

We have been with this pharmacy for a number of years and always found the service excellent. In recent troubled times their help has been exemplary in ensuring our medication is there on time. Thank you. Terry Smith

Avoid - Rude Staff don't trust them with any prescription, they forget to order items (which are life saving meds that are needed) and tell lies on why they didn't order it and the items, takes ages to get served as well. Avoid and go to better professional chemists / pharmacies such as Jays Chemist in DP. Unfortunately I had to give this bad chemist 1 star and if I had the choice I wouldn't give any.

In general this shop seems to be nearly always under-staffed, often causing a long wait to make a purchase. Again, today, my wife visited this shop and there was no sales assistant to be seen. Eventually a member of staff was called. My wife was trying to get a refund for an overcharge from a purchase from another branch and was assured that this could be done from her local shop. At first she was told it was possible but then another member of staff came over and said it couldn't be done because "There's no one here today to authorise it." Presumably the manager was missing - frustrating again.
