   Really disappointed with the new chef! We loved this Chinese restaurant, but the changes are not good. We love the balanced flavoursome dishes but these have been paired down to beige food. There were no vegetables in the dishes! The actual dishes are shown in the photos- Kung Po chicken and Yellow bean chicken and cashew. As you can see there were no vegetables. Bring back the old days!!!

   The Duke is a fantastic venue for a party. We held an 18th birthday party in the marquee at the back of the pub and the landlord and his staff pulled out all the stops to make it a fantastic night. The party lighting in the marquee was spot on, drinks were ordered and delivered on demand into the marquee, the Chinese buffet was great, and there was a cocktail bar just outside the marquee. This is indeed Marlow’s hidden gem!

   Have been going to the Duke for Chinese for a few years now and always found it to be good. However the ownership of the Chinese recently changed and unfortunately there has been a significant decrease in quality of the food despite an increase in price. We had chilli beef which had no flavour and a strange texture, seaweed had clearly been cooked in dirty oil and tasted awful. Such a shame to see this happen but unfortunately will now look elsewhere for Chinese food.

   The Duke. The best pub in Marlow. For good reason: a true welcome from the owner every time, brilliant proper pub surroundings and the best food going. They pour beer properly too and actually care about you being there. Viva the Duke!

   Steve the landlord arranged the rear tent area to be reserved for my birthday celebration. A lovely spacious area for larger parties with a stage.The staff went above and beyond offering table service and they had decorated the area with balloons, lights and great music to give it a real party feel.    Food was delicious, staff were very friendly as was the atmosphere. The only negative was the lack of choice in no-added-sugar drinks. We will definitely return though :)

   I am a local and a regular at The Duke. I have been here long enough to know that it has had a troubled history for the last 20 years. Previous landlords have never really got on top of the potential that the pub and its garden offers...…until now!! Steve has done a brilliant job! During the last troubling, pandemic years he has created a haven of friendly hospitality that has become a centre of the community for many people. Offering flexible spaces throughout the pub where you can watch sport, eat good Chinese food and listen to live music. It is fair to say that everyone has a place to enjoy here. If I am being truthful, I am seriously in two minds whether to post this review. If I do, it could mean that more people will come, like it and then come more often. Not sure this is MY desired outcome! If I do post this review it would only be to give the well deserved kudos to Steve and the rest of the Duke Team. Keep up the good work, folks!
