“Chaophraya has become our go-to Thai restaurant, we absolutely love the Birmingham location, so when my friend turned 40, we decided to celebrate at the Aberdeen location. And honestly, it didn’t disappoint! From the booking to the actual evening, everything was smooth. Oil, the manager, was so kind and professional throughout. Jessica W, our server, was lovely and made sure the night ran perfectly. We pre-ordered from the set menu so we could try a bit of everything...the food was fresh, flavourful, and absolutely delicious. The drinks and dessert were great too. They even surprised us with a few bottles of chardonnay and cake for the birthday girl, which was such a thoughtful touch. 10/10 would recommend Chaophraya if you're after a tasty, feel-good meal in a beautiful setting. “Superb meal. Probably the best burger I've ever had, and a phenomenal range of beers, with abv ranging from 0.5% to an eye-popping 14.5%. My wife went for a selection of small plates and was equally impressed. The night we were in there was a DJ playing some great vinyl at a very conversation-friendly level. Staff were really chilled (in a good way) and genuinely friendly. The place feels like a real labour of love and hopefully it prospers for many years to come. If you appreciate good beer and/or soul food then we'd highly recommend it.”

“Good shop and good range of products. Found alot of the 'aldi' based products are actually nicer than the standard/known brands. Couple more craft beers in the beer selection would be ideal but still got about 15-20 different choices. Staff in Portlethen store have always been helpful.”

“We had such a beautiful dinner! Everything tasted incredible, the quality of food and drink was fantastic and all staff were lovely. It’s such a shame in the Aberdeen scene right now. Restaurants like this should be thriving but there was only one other table while we were in. We made no request for anything special as it was my 21st birthday, but still the staff brought out a cake with a candle and sang happy birthday to me. This completely surprised our whole table and was honestly such a lovely gesture. I really hope to be back soon.”

“This place is a hidden gem. 4 of us went for an evening meal. Food was really stunning - the cauliflower was excellent and the sharing platters great. Wine was reasonably priced for some decent bottles. One of the best places to go in Aberdeen (and love the chef giving back on unfair reviews!)”

“This is the first time we have been to Vovem since their re-opening recently. Their team is solid, from host to bar to service, we had a wonderful experience. Servers are knowledgeable and well-spoken. We were sat near the kitchen which was nice to observe, but perhaps a little loud due to traffic of servers walking by, that did not affect the experience. Food was good and well-priced.”

“I had a nice catch up with a friend at Cafe Society, during a busy lunchtime period. The food was lovely and service was good. It was a tidy cafe. I had to sit next to my friend instead of opposite him, as the seats are quite far apart and it’s hard to hear when there is a lot of people - but that’s what happens when it’s busy! It wouldn’t be affordable to come here every lunch - as a tea and a burrito came to just shy of £10. Although hopefully I can be back again soon.”

“A great restaurant which I’d highly recommend. It prides itself on offering Scottish cuisine, so I’m not sure how the Korean chicken bites fit into that aim, but everything else is brilliant. The dining area is very spacious and decorated well, with plenty of space between the tables. All the staff are friendly and welcoming with a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. The chicken & haggis meatballs was the perfect starter - presented well and truly amazing flavours. A shame they don’t offer it as a larger main! There was no need to wish for a bigger portion of the pie though, it was massive! Again presented well and very tasty with lots of meat in the filling. Definitely somewhere I’ll be returning and for a more ‘local’ experience I’d highly recommend.”

“Great Indian food. Lovely selection of curry, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, and pretty much all of it is great. On weekdays they have a mixed dish called a tali, which is great if you're an indecisive person. I just had a lamb korma with coconut rice and a naan bread, but hot dang, it was the creamiest korma I've ever had. Costs a pretty penny, though, but if it's a special occasion or you just want to splurge, it's quite worth it. Highly recommended.”
