“Cody is a legend. He made me a focaccia sandwich. I asked him to surprise me with the contents and he did not disappoint! With spicy salami, dried tomatoes, mayo and cheese, it was delicious. I didn't take a picture because I ate it before I could look for my phone and I'm not sorry, it was so worth it.”

“Our first visit to this lovely gem, I’ve passed it many times and was actually born a short way down the Bearwood Road. A very warm welcome from the host who has a lovely sense of humour. The decor is very cozy and like sitting in their living room. The food is amazing, mainly Polish but other dishes too. We had the fish pate followed by Highlanders potato pancakes which was simply amazing, great flavours. Finished with choc cake with another twist. Lovely ambience with nice music. An all round authentic great experience, will definitely be back !!”

We placed our pickup order with ease and received a prompt order confirmation. From the moment the food is bought to the car you instantly know this is going to be special. The considered packaging, branded bag and various temperature controlled containers. POM have taken no shortcuts here. Our drive home was an hour, we expected the takeaway to have lost a little something in the journey - moisture build up, sweating of containers etc... but no. The temperature controlled containers didn’t fault at all. The thoughtful touches continue, an array of chutneys, dips and garnishes, the individual packing of components ensuring dishes don’t get soggy or wet. POM have gone the distance, they’ve thought of everything - even instructions on reheating food are included. Pinch of Masala isn’t just a clean website and polished service, there’s more, a lot more. At the very core - this is unrivalled food. It felt like a fine dining experience at home. “I have to leave a review for this pub as it’s our regular, honestly one of the best pubs I’ve been to… The service is 10/10 and the atmosphere is incredible, all staff are friendly and Sam is very attentive and makes sure you’re well catered for. “Realised I have not yet left a review for The Bear! This is a nice place to come for food, drinks and just relax. When working from home often causes a need to escape the house, can always find plug sockets for laptops, phones etc and the WiFi is spot on too for everything could possibly need. WiFi - 55.6Mbps download / 42.1Mbps upload speed according to Speedtest for my visit today at around 5pm. Drinks - Always served cold and fresh. Even when gets busy, do not have to wait long at the bar. When working and need to crack on - the app ordering is perfect too. No problems at all! Food - Spot on. I tend to go for the "Chick N Mix" for £8.79! Check the photo, its great. Lots of food, hot, fresh and tasty. Highly recommended! Staff - Thank you everyone here for your great service, it really is appreciated to be able to have a friendly chat when often come solo. From the warm welcome at the bar, and to bringing the orders to the table is fantastic, will keep returning for as long as continues! Atmosphere - Its a local sort of pub, but welcoming of everyone. Music as just the right level, pool tables, poker tables on some nights and quiz. A Gem of Bearwood! Only one suggestion for improvement... There is a lot vandalism on the wall in the gents toilets.... How about paint the section in front of the urinals with chalk board paint, and leave some chalks to use on it? Would cost very little and solve the graffiti by "allowing" it. Just a thought, a banter wall - hope you consider it :) Interesting point to note for those local and not... look up at the clock on the top. Only when doing this review today I noticed that there are bears all around it. The things you miss for all the years living around here until come to look closely. Conclusion: Highly recommend this place to anyone for drinks and food! 5* all round.”

“Went on a Thursday evening to the Red cow. Thought the worst as there was 1 table occupied by diners. How wrong we were! We went for the ‘fat cow’ chilli chips, masala chips, lollipop chicken, chilli lollipops and 3 naans. We asked for the chips and naans to be upgraded on the fat cow as it only comes with plain but it was lost in translation so we got 3 plain naans and 2 chips additional to what we wanted. The fat cow grill itself was sensational. Lamb chops - great taste, perfect amount of charring. All the chicken was juicy and full of flavour. Fish pakora - nice light batter, lots of meaty fish. The chilli chips were unreal, so so good! Definitely recommend them with the chilli lollipops. Certainly no scrimping on the portions! The only slight criticism is the grill wasn’t sizzling when it came out but it was on a oven tray as it was so big! It says on the menu it serves 8-10, there was 5 of us and we were all stuffed. Would definitely go back, be great to go when it’s busy. One of the best mixed grills we’ve all had, up there with Champys, new hen and chickens etc. Update… we went back for our Xmas mixy, again quiet inside in the dining area but the mixy was first class. Had the £42 fat cow again. Was 6 of us, with 2 cobras to top it off we were all stuffed. The chilli chips and chilli lollipop are a must. Chips are battered and covered in chilli sauce…. Unbeatable! Football was on prime too! Thanks red cow for rounding off this year with a class mixy!”
