He’s completely changed my dental hygiene 180 degrees in 6 months. I was in pain, severe infections, numerous fillings and decaying teeth. I’ve now fixed the root causes, have a sustainable dental hygiene routine and no issues. Dr Asad follows sensible and sensitive advice and procedures which were good for me and my health, not about the money. “Genuine Implant Expert With a Very Calm Reassuring Manner I am a keen brass player, having spent over 30 years playing in Championship Section brass bands. Due to a rugby injury in my youth , I had been playing for most of that time with a bridged front tooth. Just over a year ago, the lateral incisor to which my front tooth was bridged suddenly snapped off. I was now missing two teeth (one front and one lateral incisor). This obviously made playing a brass instrument virtually impossible. My regular dentist was not prepared to tackle implants due to the bone loss that had occurred over 20+ years from the missing front tooth. He also told me that there was an ‘unusual’ nerve passing through the bone in my upper jaw which an implant might sever, causing loss of feeling in my upper lip. This petrified me and I really thought my brass playing days had come to an end. My Practice said although they weren’t prepared to do the implant themselves, they could refer me to an implant specialist… Amit Patel at Birmingham Dental Specialists . Amit did his own scans, and immediately reassured me that implants were going to be possible. He presented various options involving varying levels of bone graft and width of implant. When I dithered over the options, he took charge and recommended using thinner implants which meant they could be placed at the same time as a minimal bone graft, speeding up the whole process. A year on, I couldn’t be happier. My embouchure quickly recovered once the implants were in and within a couple of months my playing was back to normal. Whilst the process is not without some discomfort, this is very quickly forgotten once you have 2 ‘real’ teeth again. Quite apart from enabling me to continue my hobby, the appearance and function of the implants is perfect ! You very quickly forget that they’re not real teeth. Amit is clearly an absolute expert in his field and I couldn’t recommend BDS highly enough. He and his team are very welcoming, friendly and reassuring, making the whole process as painless as it could possibly be. If you are considering implants, I wouldn’t hesitate to book a consultation with Birmingham Dental Specialists.”

“A massive that you to Dr Panesar and the rest of the Birmingham Orthodontics team!! When picking where to go to the orthodontics I did lots of research and decided to pick here which I would recommend. Dr Panesar spent lots of time making sure my teeth were moving correctly, explaining the process and making sure I was comfortable. Being able to have appointments on a Saturday also made the process of having Invisalign a lot easier as I wasn’t having to fit my appointments around work. The price was all explained up front when I went for a consultation and there were no hidden costs.”

“Had an emergency app for extraction of a wisdom tooth that was very curved and was told by previous dentist it would be hard to remove. Today had it removed by these guys they werent fantastic. Great after care aswell. Highly recommended”

“Browns are a first class dental surgery, and I highly recommend them. Every member of the staff there are very professional, courteous, caring, kind & gentle. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. Jay has done work on my teeth, and explains thoroughly, exactly what he is going to do when you see him. I have been extremely pleased with the work Jay has completed so far. As recommended byJay, I need a bit more complex work to be done, which I will have done at the dental hospital, due to health issues. However when that has been completed, I look forward to returning to Browns, for Jay to complete the rest of my treatment. Browns are definitely worth every one of those 5 stars. “I needed a very old filling removed and replaced with a crown. I don't mind visiting the dentist at all and Umae has always been fantastic but as it's been a long time since I needed such a lengthy procedure I was a little apprehensive when my appointment came around. I needn't have worried at all as having told Umae how I was feeling she went out of her way to reassure me and put me at ease. My first appointment did indeed turn out to be a long one and afterwards I typed some words into my phone so I wouldn't forget how Umae and the staff had looked after me during my visit. The words I wrote were: skilled, professional, kind, calm, patient and reassuring. When my treatment had been completed I went on to use the Boutique whitening system. As my teeth were towards the 'dark' end of the scale this took both patience and perseverance over several months. During this time Umae was, as always, kind and helpful and so encouraging of my efforts. I now have a much brighter smile and am so pleased that I used the whitening system. Umae is an excellent dentist and all the staff I have encountered at the practise (Izzy, Victoria and Julie) are warm, welcoming and professional. Many thanks to everyone for looking after me!”

“I have just competed the 3 day ultimate ceramics course. My expectations of the course were exceeded. Dominic is an excellent teacher, friendly, approachable and extremely knowledgeable. The course covered preparation of teeth, which ceramic can be used in different clinical situations and cementation/adjustment. On the 3rd day Michele, from MPOP lab, presented the view from the lab side and what will help them to create the best results. He showed a clinical case from start to finish. Overall I couldn’t recommend this course more. Everything that I have learnt I can put into clinical practise from basic to more complex cases”

“If dentistry in general can be described as a pleasure, then Northwick Manor is the GOLD standard. I have an inherent fear of the dentist having suffered at the hands of the school dentist in the 60’s & 70’s. It was brutal. Once at work I found Mr Tipton in St.Johns, who was brilliant & I stayed with him over 30 years, until his retirement in 2012. Although I was transferred to a BUPA dentist, I didn’t feel either comfortable or confident, or indeed “a part of anything”. I found Northwick doing research online. After giving them a call I felt reassured that they could allay my dental fears. The receptionists are not only incredibly nice, kind & pleasant, but knowledgeable as well. I see Dr Kirsty. She listened to all my worries & concerns & after a very thorough examination explaining everything as she went along, gave me a full low down on what was needed & why? I am approximately half way through that treatment now, which includes crowns & it’s just such a positive experience. It’s like a whole new world of dentistry that is done “with you” as opposed to being done too you….there is a world of difference. There really are not enough adjectives to describe how amazing this practise is on all levels. Thank you to the whole team, you are amazing. 100% RECOMMENDATION”

“I really can’t say enough good things about Luke, all the team and my experiences at Shakespeare Drive. I’ve been going to an NHS dentist for all of my life, and I was left feeling let down and anxious after they recommended a tooth be extracted when I thought it could be saved. I decided to get a second opinion from Shakespeare Drive and I’m so grateful I did. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in safe hands. Luke not only saved my tooth with a root canal and crown, he actually listened to me. He has been phenomenal. He took the time to do proper xrays and found other work that my NHS dentist overlooked for years and would have cause me significant problems if unresolved. When I spoke to my NHS dentist about the additional work, they simply said they’d “monitor it”, which I was disappointed and frustrated by. Needless to say, I will not be going back to them. Because of the trust that I gained in Luke and the team, I’m now having my other work done at Shakespeare Drive rather than through my NHS dentist. Given my experiences during my root canal and crown, I really trust that work is being done properly, thoroughly and to a high quality. What really blew me away was how caring everyone has been. I’d lost a lot of faith in dentists after past experiences, but Luke, Jas, the Dental Nurses, Receptionists have all made me feel like I mattered and have been so kind - not only with me, but with each other. They’ve checked in on me, explained everything clearly, and went above and beyond with aftercare. It’s rare to find a place where everyone genuinely seems to love what they do and it really does show. If you’re nervous about the dentist or if you’ve had bad experiences in the past, give them a try. They don’t just fix problems, they really care about oral health and hygiene and they can restore your trust in dentistry. You won’t feel rushed, just a number, or sat waiting around because they have overbooked to see a ridiculous amount of people in a short timeframe. Also the practice is so clean and modern which is always a bonus, and if you go there at Christmas time they have an amazing tree in reception with very unique decorations.
