“Epic! Went here for a day rave. The upstairs is large, consisting of a bar, small dance floor alot of tables and chairs. Downstairs leads to a club. It feels like you're absolutely away from reality and even though it was during the day it was pitched black in the basement. A great experience and I'd love to go back”

“I dont often write reviews but doing this for the benefit of anyone who may be in my position and trying to find something suitable and a laugh for a hen do, as that was me a few months ago when I booked Showlesque! I know there are some mixed reviews on Google and Trip advisor, but I hope this may help sway someone's decision in deciding whether or not to go...we went as a hen do on 30th August, and I was worried about what to expect because of a recent review only giving 3 stars. The food came quickly and was actually very tasty...chips were great. The staff were friendly, particularly the young lady with bobbed wavy blonde hair (sorry I've forgotten your name!). Service was good. Veronica Blacklace absolutely made the night as the MC and singer, she had a fab voice, very funny and knew how to read a room perfectly. Big Hairy Growler...so funny, and his strip tease was so bad it was good lol. We had such a laugh, the energy was great. The venue is small and intimate, but this didnt mean the atmosphere was any less. When the show finished, there was a DJ playing classic tunes, the place wasn't busy but to be honest we just enjoyed having the dance floor to ourselves. My one criticism would be that maybe there could have been a couple more alternative acts within the show, as each person came on twice (there were three performers in total, plus the MC). Very entertaining, we laughed all night and the hen had the best time. Would definitely recommend! One thing to note, if you are a large group make sure to ask to be seated on one table...we were a group of 9 but split into two booths, we could still see and talk to each other but we would have preferred to have been sat together.”

His communication with us beforehand was excellent, he listened to our ideas and combined them with his own extensive musical knowledge. “Fantastic! We had my daughter’s birthday at King Alfred today. Opted for a lesson for them all before the main disco event. The lesson was great. The instructor took a lot of care with them all and gave them all individual help and pointers when needed. Good value and gave a chance for the less confident in the group to practice. All in all a great experience- thank you!”

There is a wonderfully eclectic mix of DJ nights on throughout the month in the bar, fresh live music upstairs, decor like no other (see photos), award winning vegan kitchen and friendly staff. Couldn't want for anything else from a local pub. A total gem in the heart of Brighton!”

“Cocktails! This is the place you must go for a cocktail. I’m sure you’ll be a usual customer after that. The staff is always smiling and making sure everything is okay. There is a live music upstairs. Also, they have a club downstairs usually open on Fridays&Saturdays. I have been to many clubs in Brighton. I should say Antidote was a different experience. The first thing you realise is this place is very clean! We all know how bad it could be when you go to club and see a dirty toilet or a bar. I see staff is making sure everywhere is clean and they’re checking during the night. Lastly, don’t miss their Afrobeats night!!!”

“Had the most amazing night at Casablanca on Saturday night! I must admit the outside of the club didn't look too promising but once inside it really didn't matter because of the fantastic live music. There was a young singer with a guitar in the free bar area, who had a great voice and got us all singing along. Then we went downstairs to the large bar area (got discounted entry for £7 instead of £9) and saw an amazing band - female singer with an awesome voice and fantastic keyboard, lead guitar, bass guitar and drummer. They sang a real mixture of songs from ABBA, Justin Bieber, Beyonce to Chappel Roan and the crowd loved it all! It's been a long time that myself and my friends have seen such a quality live act and the atmosphere in the club was great too - everyone having a good time! A truly memorable night for our special weekend in Brighton!”

“Visited on Sunday 14th December 2025 at around 5.30pm and ended up waiting about 40 minutes for the drinks to be served and then a further 1hour for our food to come, the steak was not very hot and very chewy. The place was not very busy and the staff were struggling to cope the 2 waitresses Maxie and Mia were the only saving grace and tried their best to appease the situation. The resturant needs more staff both in the kitchen and in the resturant”

“Came to Revenge last night and honestly the atmosphere was electric. The bar staff were so lovely and friendly, security were spot on too Big shoutout to who I think his name was (Ash) on cloakroom absolute legend!! He even made a point of telling me he had hung my long coat properly so it wouldn’t touch the floor and get dirty which I thought was such a nice touch honestly Little things like that make such a difference and make me smile best night out in a long time 100% will be coming back!!”
