Cozy bar in Huddersfield

“Tucked away in the back streets of Huddersfield - what a surprise. Delightful outside and tastefully decorated inside, my photos don't do it justice. The staff were excellent, friendly, welcoming and very efficient. My friend and I had a two course Christmas lunch. Beautifully presented, not as good to eat. The roast potatoes weren't crispy, the sausage in the pig in blanket wasn't very nice and the stuffing was typically 'Paxo' but the greens, mash, turkey and gravy were lovely. The Christmas pudding also wasn't to my taste, huge lumps of fruit with nuts on the outer rim, quite nasty, my friend however enjoyed it. Just shows its all a matter of taste.”

“Our stay at The Foxglove was wonderful. It's in a beautiful location with plenty of parking! All the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. They all went out of their way to make sure our stay was the best. Our room was lovely and very clean and located in a building separate from the pub, so it was nice and quiet. We ate breakfast and dinner in the pub. The food was great - especially the Sunday roast! I can't wait to come back!”

“First time visit for a colleagues retirement do. Plenty of parking, really nice interior and staff super friendly. Very busy on a Thursday evening which is always a good sign, had entertainment later on as well.”

“Visited for 1st time last night and am really looking forward to this becoming our new little local. I daren't enter before but under the new ownership it gives off a really welcoming cosy modern vibe without overreaching so it can be an 'any night of the week' stop in. A warm welcome from the owner, who even brought our drinks out to us outside and a good set of staples on tap. As per the last review, yes the sign re: masks is pretty unmissable, (and maybe doesn't need to state the bit about exemptees...) but I see what they are trying to do given the place's past clientele... Everything very clean and freshly decorated. We eagerly await the 'small plates' food they have planned. So glad it's on our doorstep. Thanks for turning this 'no go zone' into something we can confidently step foot in now! We'll be back! :-)”

“Nice Chinese food in Hudderfield centre. The place is not fancy but the food is yummy. I ordered 2 very simple signature Chinese dishes and I am happy with them. Price is cheap anw and big portion.”

“I ordered 9 12" pizzas as we had a family get together.The pizzas were 10 10 and everyone liked them. I would definitely recommend this place and I believe it is somewhat underrated. The snooty special pizza is the best iv had in a long time from anywhere in huddersfield. Definitely my new go to for pizzas.”

“First time ordering from here. I’ve got to say it was possibly one of the nicest pizzas I’ve had from a takeaway. The ratio of meat to pizza was spot on, I added on BBQ sauce, the quantity of sauce was also spot on. Will definitely order again.”

“The commite sorted the table arranging and going to every table to get there customers there drinks you couldn't wish for how good and friendly the people were. They didn't try to abuse it .they had the police and another from the council and guess what they passed so it proved it can be done . Thankyou for a great night. “Same landlord since 1982, so it is worth a visit just to absorb the history and English pub culture. Great traditional British food and cask beers.”

“Great food and friendly service. Was a little chilly when I went so it would have been good if the heating was up a little bit. The Beef Stroganoff was excellent and the fish and chips are decent. The chips are cut thick with a crispy exterior. A good quality pub… just get the heating up when it’s cold out. ;)”

“It's moved next to or part of the shepherds arms in cowersley, you can get drinks from the pub and walk through. Been twice in, first as a couple, then a group of 8. Everyone enjoyed a good meal and not much of wait. Book ahead if there's lots of you or drink in the pub, which is also very pleasant. Prices good too..”

“Came for food, all I can say is wow, had pie chips and veg, it was beautiful, the pie was home made and full of meat and potato, and to the brim with tasty gravy, beautiful home made chips and fresh veg, not frozen FRESH, the food was hot, and it even came with a jug of thick gravy. 10 out of 10, would defo come again There were few regulars in who were extremely friendly, the lady behind the bar was extremely polite, and great at her job. Keep up the great work”

“Located a short walk from Huddersfield train station, this is a traditional pub with friendly staff and a great selection of beers. Very reasonable price also (about £13 for a round of 4). We didn't have food but the menu looked great and very good prices too. Lots of big screens dotted about also so would be good for watching sport also. Lovely pub.”
