“We have just moved to the area and this is by far the best cafe we have been to. Absolutely lovely experience and amazing food even though we had an awkward request they were more than happy to accommodate us. Would recommend this any day!”

“This was our first experience with an English tearoom and we are so glad it was at the delightful Dormouse Haven. We had arrived early to rent a Black Prince narrowboat for the canal and Petra warmly welcomed us to stay out of the rain as long as we needed while waiting for our boat to be ready. As tea-naive Americans, we enjoyed her recommendation for Yorkshire tea, and the Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea sandwiches, cakes and scones. The food was absolutely delicious and obviously created with passion. Too much for the two of us to eat so we took the leftovers and enjoyed them that night on the boat. And then some for breakfast the next morning. As a couple of artists, we really enjoyed and appreciated the creativity of the Alice in Wonderland decor and atmosphere. Petra's vision for the restaurant is really cool. And thanks so much to Petra for the hospitality. A highlight of our first trip to England!”
