“I can't believe the reviews here! Our son has been at this school for two years and I am impressed! The teachers I have come across, including the head teachers are all brilliant and warm and approachable and I feel our son is very well cared for and well taught. He has loved school and hopefully this has given him a strong base for enjoying the rest of his education. The teachers and head teachers are always careful to make sure parents are included and I have always felt that if I have any concerns, they will be taken seriously. In my opinion (and I think the vast majority of other parents) this is a good school which takes care to help each individual child to grow into responsible and respectful citizens through learning and playing.”

    St Christopher's School

    ★★★★☆ 4.4

“This is my sons 2nd year at St Christopher’s. Recently as a parent I had some concerns on syllabus content and the way in which Mr Lyon and Miss Clarke dealt with this was above and beyond just being professional. They were approachable, listened and showed a great deal of humility and understanding. As a parent we choose to entrust our children in the expert care and understanding of schools and the teaching staff, however being able to support that learning in a way that is nurturing and always in the interest of the child and their individuality is special. Not all schools listen. My recent experience with both teachers gives me confidence in St Christophers ability not to just teach my child but to nurture him and make the learning journey collaborative and positive. Parent teacher engagement is key to successful learning experiences. Keep up the Good Work!”

“My daughter has been at St Joseph’s since nursery when she was 3yrs old. I cannot overstate how happy we are with her wonderful school. It has always been a gentle nurturing school perfect for first steps into education. There had been some concerns that previously rigorous academic standards were dropping but no more. Mrs Birtles the new headteacher has brought a wealth of experience, energy & vision. In less than a year she has revolutionised the school, no longer old fashioned & safe, the new St Joseph’s is cutting edge & exciting. Growth mindset, persistence, creativity, wonderful educational trips, meditation, specialist music, art, sport, drama & IT & the most dedicated teaching staff you could hope for. The academic curriculum has been fully overhauled with the introduction of Read Write Inc & a mastery approach in maths. The Yr 2 (Infants 3) class just did the KS1 SATs for bench marking (the children were largely totally unaware this was happening) & have done phenomenally well. With a very large percentage of girls working at ‘greater depth’ & scaled scores of 115 (the maximum score) being almost the norm. The Prep 4’s 11+ results were outstanding (on website) St Joseph’s now really does have it all, fiercely strong academics in a totally non ‘hot housing’ nurturing environment. It’s the last day of term today & my daughter wishes there was another week of school!! that’s how much she loves St Joseph’s. We feel fortunate to have this amazing school on our doorstep & are so grateful to Mrs Birtles & all the amazing staff for giving our daughter such an great attitude to learning & to life.”

“I attended this school almost 50 years ago and today I am still grateful for the education I received. I realise things have changed radically over time but from its results, it is still achieving the goal the William Rodger set for the school, which was to offer education to all, irrespective of religion, colour or social background. As the School is about to celebrate its 150 anniversary, perhaps one should remember and rework John Kennedy's remark, Ask not what the School can do for me but what I can do for the School. Cowper Street allowed me, my younger brother to achieve a university education and supported both us use during our time there.”

“Such a good school, my 5 year old daughter has been here for two years now and I cannot fault it. The teachers and staff are attentive, knowledgeable and very organised. The pupils are well behaved, Kind and considerate. My daughter is always excited to go to school she loves her friends and the staff here. Parents meetings are informative and useful. They constantly have parent workshops to help you understand what is being taught and how to support your child in certain subjects. The parents are encouraged to be interactive and we can view online using our individual passcodes and see what our children are doing, their progress and any concerns. They have many outings, performances, so many positive things. I feel very lucky to have my daughter attend such a school”

“My son has been at global for nearly a year now. I don't normally write reviews but I feel so strongly about ensuring I write one about this amazing school. They have been so supportive and worked extremely hard with my son. David a teacher at the school is fantastic and a total inspiration to young men. The teachers treat the children as individuals and understand that all children's needs are not the same. Communication between the school and parents is great. I am always kept up to date. I was scared about making the decision to move my child in year 10 but this was the best decision I ever made. My son has matured and academically he has done so well and I'm proud of him. I will never be able to thank this school enough for what they have done for my family. If your thinking of moving your child here next year then please please go and look around because what you see on an open day is exactly what you get. The teaching staff understand children and treat them with respect teaching them life skills they will remember for life. Truely amazing people who clearly choose to teach because they wanted to make our children's future brighter. Really can't praise this school enough”
