“Fantastic ballet school. My daughter has been attending for the past few months. We have tried other ballet schools within the area, but found that there was not enough attention and ethos on learning, they seemed more focused on playing games and entertaining the children. With Nutcracker ballet school you really get a mixture of learning and fun. The lessons are very structured and allot of thought and effort goes into them. Would definitely recommend.”

“I’ve been to a few different circus classes in the past but I always felt that they were too focused on fitness side of things and not really the art and beauty of circus. With other circus classes it feels like the new get fit craze but Forgotten Circus School is the perfect combination of working on strength/ fitness but also /training/ and nurturing an art form. The teachers genuinely care about your progress and you can see the love they have for their particular specialties. They will speak about how what you’re learning can be applied in future routines and performances, or wherever you choose to take your circus journey, which is very inspiring. I started in February and have been coming every month since, I can’t really imagine my life without it now and I can’t see myself going anywhere else. Every class is fun from the warm up till the very end and everyone who attends supports and encourages each other, it’s a really lovely sense of community.”

“Having been to the U18 Football, Don Davis, and fight4change boxing sessions, The Black Prince Trust is definitely one of the best places for fitness, especially for young people like me aged around 13 - 16. The pitch is quite decent and the boxing gym has a lot of equipment for training. The coaches are also extremely passionate in not only the sport, but also in supporting and inspiring adolescents to get fit and make new friends. Don Davis boxing is on from 4:30 to 5:30, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and the fee is £1.50, however the fight4change boxing sessions, football and basketball session are free. “I did the harness and bungee taster as a birthday present. That is certainly an experience that put me out of my comfort zone but brought a lot of joy too! The staff here are solid professionals and I trusted them entirely. Definitely a fun and unconventional activity to try!”

“I recently held a wake for my late mother at The Queen’s Head, and I cannot praise the team enough. From start to finish, the staff were incredibly attentive, compassionate, and professional. They truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly during such an emotional time. The food was outstanding—beautifully presented, full of flavour, and served in generous portions. There was a fantastic variety, and it was all so well received by our guests—it disappeared in no time! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff made everyone feel comfortable and cared for. I wholeheartedly recommend The Queen’s Head to anyone looking for a venue to host a wake or any special gathering. “Large local pub with a lot of history (the whole area, "The Blue" us named after it). A good selection of beers and friendly staff. The pub was completely shuttered all over covid and I was worried that it would close forever, but it's back now under new ownership. It's clearly a good place for watching sport.”

“We’ve always loved the WTF, and it’s pretty much been our local since moving here 4yrs ago. However, what a breathe of fresh air it’s had recently with the renovation, and Exale brewery taking over!! A total triumph and such an exciting and welcomed addition to the area. This place brings something different to the other pubs I feel. It has a combination of great beers on tap (their pale rose is also gorgeous and such a bargain!) it’s super relaxed and welcoming to all types of people - young and old, family groups and lots of young people too. Staff are super friendly, lots of new faces and Short Road pizza is totally unbeatable! Love the weekly special offers too. What a cracking local boozer!! 5 stars all round xx”
