“We enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea. A delightful selection of sandwiches and cakes. Very generous helping of cream and strawberry jam accompanied warm scones both fruit and plain. We also enjoyed a delicious individual mini mousse made with chocolate and Baileys. An excellent large pot of tea, and we were offered more tea/ coffee if we wanted. We also enjoyed a very good glass of champagne which was an optional extra. Our waiter was friendly and welcoming, all served in a lovely setting.”

“Like the Black Horse, this is a pub that's more of a food place than a pub, but there's a proper bar area if you're just in there for drinks. Food is good and they often have deals on. They often have entertainment on, although this is usually just a solo singer with backing tracks. The pub quiz is once a month on the first Monday of the month (although is moving to twice a month in 2026); it's a good quiz with 8 rounds of questions on a variation of subjects. Overall a decent place for the locals of Pilgrims Hatch!”

“amazing food. pricey but there’s a reason for it, the food is good quality and good portion sizes. stunning fish finger sandwich. as a vegetarian i felt like there were plenty of options. service was great when i went. it can definitely get busy/loud in here but at the end of the day it’s bringing them business which is good to see! i also came here for a party a few weeks ago and the servers were incredible. amazing venue”

“Handy local shop and post office with nice staff...ideal for top-up shopping and last minute buys...loyalty scheme and offers always present and nice to see local foodstuffs on sale. If I'm being honest, the expansion into the retail area next door which if I recall was a launderette made more internal space but seemed to lessen choice of goods on sale but maybe this was unconnected....”

“Absolutely loved our stay here. Every staff member could not have done more to make us feel welcome, from the reception staff to the restaurant, bar and spa staff. Room was lovely and we were allowed to change to a 4 person room (as opposed to 3) at no extra cost. We ate dinner here both nights and both times food was great and good value. Would thoroughly recommend - thank you”
