“Absolutely love this salon. The staff could not be more friendly, welcoming or attentive and the results are always amazing. I get beauty treatments at the clinic next door and there is a lovely almost family-like vibe when you visit. You feel really at home and the stylists (especially the salon owner Virginia who I always have cut and treat my hair) are perfectionists and so professional. Highly recommended. UPDATE!! Still visiting Virginia many years on in her new salon (which is lovely!) and need to add extra love for her on here (with photos of the magic she can work). Despite moving out of the area further into Kent, and being a non-driver, I’ve still been travelling in to visit V for cuts/colours, and, in general, sticking to a fairly conservative and natural style. However, as someone with hair “lazyitis”, I got in into my head this year that a perm would be a quick and easy “wash and go solution”’ to the usual cons of styling long and frizzy hair, and booked an appointment at a London salon “specialising in perms curly hair”. I’d had an upmarket West End perm back in the 1980s as a tennybopper and loved the look and was expecting a similar head of bouncy, spiral curls. Instead I was left with completely damaged, distressed, dry and colour stripped hair, which - not only wasn’t curly for the most part (it didn’t fully “take”) - but even worse was dry chopped prior to the treatment with no wet cutting afterwards, leaving me with completely uneven ends, half wavy/half straight brassy, dry frizz. This London salon were very slow to respond to my concerns post-perm and even advised me via text to “snip the long bits off myself” (!!) before asking me to return for a “repair job” when I persisted that I was hugely disappointed. However I was very wary and I knew they’d make my hair even worse if I did return (stating they’d cut straight across - probably dry cut again). Thankfully V rescued me, and when I arrived asked if I “wanted my old hair back”. I didn’t know such miracles were possible but I went into V’s salon looking like a famous TV scarecrow and left with a me that felt like my human self! V put enormous effort into colouring my hair to a beautiful chocolate brown (my natural shade) cutting off the damaged and uneven ends and showing that, even though my hair is now irreversibly permed, it has the versatility to be styled in other ways, including sleek, straight and bouncy. I cannot express my gratitude enough for Virginia’s effort and attention to helping me in dire straits. She heard my concerns before our appointment and ensured ample time was booked in to address my disaster. She has a real respect for your hair and loves to work with whatever natural flair you have, helping you minimise the elements you’re not fond of. She’s hugely dedicated and passionate and, outside of her skills, she’s also a really lovely human being who you can’t help but enjoy spending time with, often putting the world to rights. “My son (now 19) has been attending All The Arts for over 10 years now. He enjoyed it so much that he also joined a couple of their other classes (Musical Theatre & Saturday Academy). He has grown in confidence and taken LAMDA & IDTA examinations with them. He has performed with them at the O2, Her Majestys' Theatre, Royal Albert Hall, Saddlers Wells to name a few. It was through All The Arts that he obtained a place at a Performing Arts College. He still continues to attend on a Tuesday, but also attends their Advanced Drama Class on a Thursday. The staff are amazing, they are talented, supportive and always have time to talk to the children on a one to one basis as and when required. Apart from the hard work learning to dance, sing and act there is always time set aside to learn through play. You can see from childrens' faces how fun it is to attend the classes here. I highly recommend this Theatre school.”

“I do not usually leave reviews. I read some really negative comments below. I wanted to say this has not been our experience at all. Hollybank it’s self is a well maintained building that has just been updated. It’s bright and cheerful. All efforts have been made with consideration all the children’s needs. I have only ever seen the place look very clean and tidy. They even pop my child clothes in the wash if get used during her stay. Which is very helpful and appreciated. All the staff I have found to be warm and friendly. With complete commitment to treating all the children with love and care. The staff are very special people that should be commended for all their hard work. The staff go above and beyond to make each individual child happy. For example when my daughter when stays they get all the food she likes make they buy her favourite food like strawberries. This attention to detail is very heartwarming and means a lot as a parent. I have bumped in to a hollybank member of staff she recognised me and we had a lovely chat about my daughter. In other reviews below Pat the manager has was brought up I have always found her great to go to if I need help or information regarding my child. There are many staff that all deserve a shout out but I am just going to mention Matthew as he got some negative feed back. I believe this is completely unjustified. Matthew is an amazing nurse. He looks after the children with true care and compassion, while being always be professional. I am truly glad someone like him is looking after my child. He is kind, caring and funny my daughter loves him. Although I think she can be a little bit naughty for him, he takes this all in his stride. Especially as he time to get to know her so well. Any time he needs to know or check something about My child he will call me. I personally like him very much and appreciate all his had work. Appreciate all the hollybank and staff. I wish I could show my gratitude to each and every member of staff, they make a huge difference in the lives of families with special needs children. I feel so fortunate to have my child being looked after by such wonderful people.”
