“I started seeing Christel last year after a long inner battle with deciding if online therapy was for me. I had believed for a long time that counselling couldn't and wouldn't change anything. After alot of encouragement from a friend I stepped out and I can only say that I wish I had found Christel sooner! I was utterly pessimistic about the possibility of being happy but months down the line my skepticism proved unfounded. Christel really helped me to elucidate and articulate the origins of deeply embedded patterns of negative and self defeating thinking, which proved essential in enabling her to then work with me to develop practical strategies for loosening their grip. Christel was patient and compassionate while being proactive and constructively challenging when she needed to be. I found this combination of empathy and robust testing of my negative perceptions immensely helpful and was exactly what I needed. The journey was very up and down emotionally but Christel was a constant source of reassurance and helped me to navigate through the harder times. I felt at ease speaking to Christel and was met with understanding and no judgment. My life has improved for the better and I have been able to use the tools I have learnt to change ingrained behaviours and thought processes.
