    Freedom Caffe' Tearoom

    ★★★★★ 4.9
    Closed

“I've only ever driven through Cheam before my visit yesterday, a trip by public transport (tram and train) from Croydon specifically to visit the Whitehall museum, housed in a grade II* listed former domestic dwelling dating from before the reign of Henry VIII. While the museum is an important place of reference for local history, geared more towards children than adults, it also houses the excellent Freedom Caffe' tearoom. The restrictions imposed by such an old, historic house may mean they can't use a normal commercial coffee machine but the range of soft drinks is impressive and more importantly, the vegan options for lunch are delicious. I highly recommend both the vegan sausage roll with salad and the vegan Greek. Then there are the cakes... The only vegan option on the day was a chocolate pear and apple cake but it was gorgeous and the staff were attentive and friendly and the food reasonably priced. I also noted the fresh pasta preparation. There's more to Cheam than the museum but whatever else you're doing it's well worth making sure you visit the Freedom Caffe' for a drink and a bite to eat.”

    Poundland

    ★★★★☆ 4.2
    Closed

“The selection of products at Poundland is impressive, with everything from household cleaning products to cosmetics, clothing, and even some grocery items. While the quality of some items may be lower than those found in more expensive stores, Poundland is a great place to find bargains and stock up on essentials. One of the standout features of Poundland is the "everything for £1" pricing, which makes it easy to budget and plan purchases. The store also regularly introduces new products and seasonal ranges, which adds an element of excitement to each visit. However, it is worth noting that some items may be of lower quality or have shorter shelf lives. Additionally, the checkout process can sometimes be slow due to long lines and limited staff. Overall, Poundland is a great option for bargain hunters looking to save money on a variety of products. While the quality may not be the highest, the prices are hard to beat and the selection is impressive.”

“Freshly made sandwiches, hot cappuccino & lovely milkshake. Cakes were a bit hard though. Very friendly staff & great service (it was so good I forgot to take a photo initially!). Have visited numerous times since first review, so I've added more photos. Smoothies are delicious.”
