“Warm and friendly place! Nice food. Nice people! Had the falefal wrap, chicken doner wrap and the chicken burger. All were delicious! Must try!”
“wholesome vibes from Joanna Her customer service levels were outstanding keeping us all satisfied throughout our visit. Big family and everyone left feeling happy! Thank you for your services”
“Superb Guinness. Choice of standard or cold serve. Tough competition for the Bricklayers Arms in Putney! Cash only! Toasties on offer, plus free WiFi. Honourable mentions - Tayto, folk music on Sundays, great decor, ambient lighting”
“Great pub with excellent range. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The lady who runs the pub is an exceptional host, who makes everyone feel very welcome and at home. Food is excellent - the roasts especially. The roasts are flavoursome, well seasoned, plentiful and excellent value for money. I can't recommend enough. Prawn cocktail was also gorgeous. Dog friendly too.”
“Love this place small but no small with atmosphere had some amazing nights down here since Alex has taken over”
“Really great roast! Service was attentive without being annoying, and then food was really delicious! Shame the lamb was sold out but will just mean I’ll have to come back earlier next time!”
“Simply stunning! Eating in or taking out, quality at its best. If you have the chance to eat in you get the added bonus of a very friendly and funny manager! Highly recommended place.”
“I can't comment on the food as we out sourced the food. I hired out the function room for my husbands 30th recently, (had come recommended) and the Surrey arms team did not disappoint! The staff were attentive and helpful throughout the night, and leading up when I had questions. I can't remember the name of the 2 ladies on shift that evening, (Friday 20th oct) but I want to say a huge thank you! My husband had the best night, and everyone commented on what a great venue it is!! I think one of the ladies that work there is Beth? She was able to help out while we decorated on the Friday afternoon, and she was always there to answer any questions also leading up to the party! I can't recommend this venue enough. Their DJ is great too! Thank you surrey arms for such a great night!”
“The friendliest pub i've ever been to in London! Not 5 minutes into entering the building the bartender and other patrons began chatting with us about the history of the pub and its regulars, immediately welcoming us to their little family. Everyone knows everyone and the environment feels so warm and familiar it's more akin to chatting with friends in your living room than strangers in a bar (For my fellow Boston residents it was like witnessing an episode of Cheers in real time). Can't wait to go back!”
“Booked the beer garden last minute for my husband's surprise birthday party and everyone had the best time! The beer garden is a fab spot on a sunny day and the staff were incredibly accommodating. They allowed us to decorate the area we booked in advance, stored our cake, and checked in throughout the afternoon/evening to make sure everything was going to plan. The food, especially the sliders, went down a treat. Would highly recommend for any parties/big group gatherings! Looking forward to our next visit.”
“The food was absolutely fantastic — fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. Every dish was enjoyable and clearly prepared with care. The staff were equally wonderful: very welcoming, friendly, and attentive, which made the whole experience even more pleasant. I truly felt comfortable and valued as a guest and would happily return again.”
“Was too early so, we don't had a chance to enjoy the band. But the bar staff was super friendly. Next time for sure”
“Entrance is via the corner door, where you sign in, either in a book on the bar, or scan the QR code that is next to it. There’s another QR code on the wall to your left. Then find a seat indoors or in the garden and there is efficient table service by the friendly staff. The seats outside include substantial, concrete framed, benches. No flimsy deckchairs here! There is a marquee if you want to get out of the sun, or to watch the TV. Being on the corner of Upper Green West and London Road, the bus-only route through Mitcham town centre, it's not a noisy place to be. Oh, and you can always take time to look at the architecture of this listed pub, built by Youngs Brewery in around 1900. Pint of Carling lager for £2.70p. Brakspear bitter also on draught at £2.90p a pint. Guinness is £4.10p a pint.”
“Was such a lovely place and a lovely community pub, everyone is friendly and was served by a nice girl with blonde hair who was a credit to the place”
“If you're after food and drink, take the review score with a shovelful of salt. Most of the negative reviews are about the hotel, and the pub/restaurant itself has also vastly improved in recent times. We really enjoyed the food - a nice menu including some great tapas, all creatively presented. There is a nice sunny beer garden for the warmer months, plenty of TVs for sporting events and the staff are friendly. This is now our go-to local in the Tooting / Streatham area.”
