“First trip to Oldham town centre for almost 50 years! Oldham road once had pubs on almost every corner as you headed there from Manchester City Centre, many from the long gone Oldham brewery. Madge fancied a trip on the Metro and we spotted this pub in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Well worth the trip for just this corner pub. A bank of ten real ales. Great vibe plus a front pavement seating area. Madge found a new Oldham brewery..We are Wolf. Bar snacks incl sausage rolls. Great visit.”

“Excellent micro tap bar inside the indoor market hall. Lovely bar spread across 3 market units of space inside Tommyfield indoor market hall, very cosy and comfy little bar. Good choices of alcohol/ale's, Drink prices are really good value and not expensive at all! Friendly bar staff and lovely customers who seem to very chatty and welcoming. You can easily strike up good conversation in this bar and make new friends. This place is very much welcomed in the indoor market hall bringing new customers and faces to a part of the market hall that was a bit empty, Please support this little bar and visit Cob and Coal.”

“We turned up as a party of 5, late notice on a Sunday evening after a long drive from the West Country. Despite the kitchen about to close, the lady who served us was extremely accommodating and we were soon served with absolutely lovely Sunday roast dinners; delicious food and plenty of it, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely atmosphere and a nice clean and friendly pub.”

“Only came in for a quick drink. Decent pub, well off the beaten path. Car park for 15/20 cars over the road. Loads of beers on tap. Food did look incredible. But didn’t have personally. Would recommend booking if going for food - not too many tables inside as it’s quite a narrow pub, none the less, still good. And dog friendly. Decent playlist on, Atleast the short time we was there. With sky sports on tv.”

“Came here with my friends and had an amazing time! The food was absolutely incredible. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. Our server Rubel was awesome and gave us great recommendations that we all loved. The music was lit and really added to the fun, energetic vibe. “What a welcoming pub. A group of us visited after the Oldham vs Woking game on Tuesday night. We were away fans, but made to feel at home straight away! Christine & Jess looked after us so well and we were even bought a round of drinks from one of the locals. We will definitely recommend The Rifle Range and be sure to visit for longer next time. “Had a lovely stay including dinner and breakfast. Food was great, we had the roast dinner which was fantastic value for money at £13.95 a head. Breakfast had a good selection of hot food at the buffet. My only, very personal, preference would have been to have more egg options as I didn’t fancy the scrambled eggs and there wasn’t any other option but the rest was delicious and plentiful. Lastly, but definitely not least were the friendly, helpful staff who really made us feel welcome and valued. Highly recommend the Boat & Horses hotel too as the rooms are big, well appointed and the beds really, really comfy. Well worth a stop off.”
