“Lovely meal, we got here quite early (7pm) and were the only ones here. Clean setting. Great food & drink.”
“Went for midweek lunch with a friend , we both had the 2 course menu deal and drinks . Very quiet with few customers while we were there, nice friendly staff . Food was very good if on the small portion side , we had the steak and ale pie . Have been here in the past and it has always been a good experience .”
“By chance we called in as we was passing and ohh it did not fail us the food was absolute gorgeous. 5* food and value Had a share for 2. Yes 100% we will be going again.”
“Delicious bagels with wonderful fresh ingredients. Service is lovely and welcoming. Amazing place to pop in for a morning coffee, brunch, lunch or an afternoon sweet treat. Delish!!!”
“Great pub , stopped off here for food and a couple of drinks before going on to the Manchester Apollo. The early bird menu was great value and delicious. Friendly attentive staff , couldn't have asked for more really”
“I recently visited The Old Original for a lovely Sunday meal, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. My partner opted for the Sunday roast, and the roast beef was cooked to perfection — tender and full of flavor, without being pink. I went for the rag pudding with chips and mushy peas, and I must say, the peas were absolutely delicious! (as was the homemade chips and rag pudding). The gravy had a rich, meaty flavor that really enhanced the meal, not bland like some places can be. Plus, the portion sizes were generous, and everything was piping hot when served. The service was excellent, with friendly and efficient staff making sure we had everything we needed. I chose from the fixed menu, and ended the meal with a lovely slice of chocolate fudge cake for dessert, which was a real treat! The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. The pub has a warm, inviting atmosphere, complete with a candle on the table, and the rural setting with its lovely views makes it a perfect place to unwind. While the car park is a little on the small side, street parking is available, so it’s not too much of an issue. All in all, I would highly recommend this pub. The food, service, and overall experience were top-notch, and I can’t wait to return soon!”
“If you haven't been in a while, it's time to head back. It's truly a must-visit spot for any fan of authentic American BBQ in the Greater Manchester area. Big improvement in food quality. We will return. The music is brilliant too.”
“Hi Maggie I've heard your closing down that's such a shame as it's such a great pub. I was told its being turned into flats we don't need any more HMO's”
“This is our Fifth time in here. Never failed. We had the Brunch menu, my Lily had crêpe and she said it is tastes like pancakes which she likes very much. And my Ami had a nice chicken burger. Already planning the next visit. Keep up the good work guys. Fantastic food and portions are really good. And we had dessert on the house.”
“Had a couple of beers here on a Friday evening. The guest beer was in great condition and the bar staff were really friendly. Plenty of parking next to the pub. Sports were being shown on multiple screens. Would recommend and visit again.”
“Had a few roasts in the old venue which were stunning Been few times at the old cock and Sundays roasts fab too - I do miss the lamb shanks on the menu but enjoy the other meats we had Have to say the cheesecakes are the best I’ve eaten absolutely gorgeous Would also like to comment the young girl running the floor ( maybe the chefs daughter ) so lovely with a gentle caring and kind approach that always tries to make your experience as positive as possible Only negative be the venue seems so cold :)”
“This is a great real ale pub. Totally unpretentious- great beer and food. Also the pub dog is rather fabulous!”
“Really excellent food staff and atmosphere food was quality service was second to none the atmosphere was really friendly and family orientated”
“Went there last minute as our other plans didn't work out. I have to say I was shocked by how good the food was as I hadn't heard anything about the place. First of all I love the decor. They have made a really nice and cosy environment. And the food was just beautiful. I will definitely go back. The young staff were so good and well mannered.”
“Popped in here for food earlier and it was lovely so had to leave a 5 star review. The burger is one of the nicest I’ve ever had! Great service and so welcoming! Will definitely be back!”
“Very friendly pub on Manchester Rd. Welcoming staff and friendly locals. Pool table available, and sports show. Unicorn ale available.”
“Good friendly sports bar plenty of T.V s so you're sure to watch from where you sit down”
“Had a lunch out with oir eldely parents this lunchtime, we travelled over from Huddersfield. The service and food was very nice and the my partner highly recommends the Lees bitter. Not been here for quite a fee years. The new management has greatly improved. Will defo go back. (Didnt take photos of food)”
“Honestly, one of the best noodles takeaway that I have been to. They have variety of options that you can order, as well as their food is freshly made and tasty. Top customer service.”
“Had a lovely stay including dinner and breakfast. Food was great, we had the roast dinner which was fantastic value for money at £13.95 a head. Breakfast had a good selection of hot food at the buffet. My only, very personal, preference would have been to have more egg options as I didn’t fancy the scrambled eggs and there wasn’t any other option but the rest was delicious and plentiful. Lastly, but definitely not least were the friendly, helpful staff who really made us feel welcome and valued. Highly recommend the Boat & Horses hotel too as the rooms are big, well appointed and the beds really, really comfy. Well worth a stop off.”
“I had a fantastic experience at the Summit Inn. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is consistently top-notch. A special shoutout to Lewis behind the bar—he’s exceptionally friendly, attentive, and pours a top pint. His personable approach really adds to the overall experience. Highly recommend stopping by!”
“Beautiful food, my partner had a stack I went for surf and turf... Very nice.... They was a little under staffed due to ill staff,,, it was a Friday night! The young lady that seated us made us welcome and explained their situation...... We only waited 15 to order food was their in ample time and cooked to perfection...... Worthy of a visit if your in the area.”
“Food was banging. We had the Chow Mein , Ribs and salt and pepper nuggets and chips. Couldn’t fault it at all. Flavour was unreal and portion size was worth it!”
“I had this burger years ago while at university, and I’ve never had a burger as good. Makes me want to fly back to the UK just for it. Perhaps it’s nostalgia or just fond memories but the portion size and quality for price was much appreciated as a student.”
“Been to all the different peri peri places, but this one is still the best. Don’t believe the negative reviews. 99% of the time the food is top notch. We come from Batley regularly, which is 40 minutes away, like many of our other compadres. The food is spicy, so don’t complain that you can’t taste anything else but spice. Genuine review with genuine picture to offset the bad reviews left by people. Been coming here for approx 18 years, but we do love hot food.”
