“After moving to Hale over a year ago now, I had put off trying to find a new hairdresser as finding one you can really trust is hard. So when I discovered The Knot on Instagram, I was comforted by their customer-first philosophy and the emphasis placed on an individual and tailored experience. My actual experience in the salon matched and exceeded my expectations! I was offered a drink on arrival and was given a beautifully presented mint tea with my favourite biscoff biscuits. I was lucky enough to have an appointment with salon owner David who made me feel comfortable right from the start and was so accommodating to my needs. He was so personable and kind, I really enjoyed our conversation, so much so I forgot I was having my hair done! The end result was nothing short of perfect and exactly what I had asked for. I feel so much more confident in myself and I am extremely grateful to David. He is an exceptional stylist and I will absolutely be returning and recommending the salon to others, including my mum who has just moved here and is looking for a new trusted hairdresser! It was probably the best decision I’ve ever made- not only to pick up the hobby but, to have found this brilliant studio! Everyone is so lovely, encouraging, supportive and just wonderful. They’re always patient and you never feel silly for asking questions or for extra demonstrations, they’re open to suggestions and encourage collaboration and feedback. If you’re new to the hobby, or looking for a different studio; I cannot recommend Asteria Studio highly enough!”

“I couldn't recommend Masquerade Tattoo enough, Mel's work is unreal. Through the booking and design process to the end result it was a great experience. Very warm and welcoming. Mel must have a very delicate touch as my sessions with her were the least pain I have ever experienced in the chair which is just a bonus. 10/10”

“Full disclosure: I am not a customer. With that being said,… This establishment is made with love, passion, blood, sweat, and determination that came from its owner, Jori Lakars, aka Hott Mama, aka The Mama who always gave herself goals and standards that benefited the world to the fullest and implemented the highest standards possible. A quick glance at her path shows that she has been successful in the industry well known in a way that the number of 5 reviews or social media followers will not reflect. I met her personally only once before she moved to England about 17 years ago. She was working in a popular tattoo shop in Wicker Park that I won’t name. ( if you know, you know) the had long ravenous hair and substantially fewer tattoos. Although I had met many women who were in the industry, few were celebrated by their peers. The shop posted a large banner in the front window that said ‘we have a female tattoo artist.’ I had never seen that before even in a liberal city like Chicago. Soon after that, every shop in the area had at least one ‘female.’ She went on to work at many of the best rated shops and worked on the best artists in the business as clients. When she moved, we were sad yet proud to see that she was following her passion overseas. She would wonder up one of the top artists anywhere she worked. She finally got her own place and put every ounce of work into it. Sadly, she had just acquired two young brilliant talents just recently. A couple of weeks ago, she passed away in a car accident without any warning. I t is a shock that she is gone and her energy is eternally resting. I have known her half of my life and I have never known anyone like her. A true inspiration and individual person who is driven to create. If you are lucky enough to have had a moment with her, you know what I mean. Love to her local community from Chicago. We were all lucky enough to be together for as long as we could,…… Cheers to Jori.”

“I made a last minute appointment with Ailsa, she did a reworking of a tattoo I really hated and I love it now and also designed a small tattoo for me. I am always nervous going to a new city and new artist but Ailsa and the whole team made me feel so comfortable and like I was among friends. I’d definitely go again and had an amazing experience.”

“Maisie is a wonderful tattoo artist, so easy to get along with whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism. She was very accommodating to my needs of frequent breaks and even offered me cups of tea. The result of my tattoo was even better than what I had originally imagined. 6 months on, my tattoo still looks just as amazing. I could not be more happier with the result. “Visited The Painted Man today for my first tattoo. After a bit of research I found Meg (lou.loutattoo) & absolutely loved her work. We messaged a few times & agreed on this design & I’m so happy with it. She is so approachable & made sure I was 100% happy with her design before we started. I’ve had a blast today, the hours flew by as she worked her magic. The studio is such a relaxing place to be. Incredibly clean & professional. “Great experience! Dave at tattoo studio 150 was very welcoming and very professional. Talked me through my design and my stencil and what fits best placement wise , mine was my arm. Matching up to around previous tattoos and covering up some scars :) the design is amazing as you can see from the pictures below! The placement is perfect and wasn’t rushed in order to get the best look. Breaks were taken inbetween if needed and even has a tub of sweeties to get your sugars back up! Overall 10/10 experience and I will be back for more! I recommend highly for any tattoo very very talented artist! Thankyou so much for giving me this beautiful tattoo! :)”

“I’ve been going to the studio to see Ned since 2019. Before that I’d not had my nails done. Beauty type settings had never really been my thing or somewhere I’d felt comfortable but I’d seen a friend get some amazing nails done by her and thought I’d try. I literally haven’t stopped since and now it’s just a thing I’m obsessed with/brings me so much joy. Everyone in the studio is lovely, the music and vibe is great, it’s really inclusive, no matter how you’re feeling you’re supported and end up feeling great, and importantly, everyone is an excellent nail artist. “I just wanted to take the time out to leave this hairdressers a review. It was my first time I went there to get my hair cut as I was recommended this place by a friend. I’m so fussy with who cuts my hair and always scared if it get ruined as I’ve had many bad experience with hairdressers due to me having long hair and getting it cut to short. I was greeted by Sophie stunning young woman and such a lovely person she did an incredible job and I’m so so happy with my cut and layers. I will 100% be coming back to cut my hair cut done by here again as I was on the search to find someone for the long run. George is a fantastic character to both such lovely people and had a very pleasant experience going. Thankyou guys so much it was love to meet you and I will see you in the future for my next cut.
