“Was completely refurbishment during September 2023 and reopened with the usual excellent staff and excellent food (which is why I have left the following 5 star review unchanged). Unfortunately, the refurbishment means we will not be using the café as often as we have done in the past, because they no longer take cash. The counter has been replaced by order screens similar to the screens in MacDonalds and some M&S cafe's, and younger people will love them. Unfortunately, unlike the similar machines at MacDonalds and some M&S cafe's (which take cash as well as card) the new payment screens here only accept card payments. The café looks fine, and the food is as good as ever, but the payment system makes it feel very impersonal and there is less opportunity for banter with the friendly staff. Also, some of the older customers who usually pay by cash will now feel excluded. Personally, I prefer a choice, sometimes paying cash, sometimes by card. “I have always walked past here because of the reviews i saw on here but because i was craving pizza so bad and passed by, i had to stop and didn't care if it was going to be terrible or not, i just wanted to give it a try. The person who took my order was quite patient and friendly because i didn't know which to order. The only con was that it took longer than expected, but on getting home and i saw the beauty in the box, I no longer bothered about the wait time. It was freshly made, hot & so tasty and it even came with a dip. I loved every bit of it. I just hope when next i visit i will have the same experience.”
