“Second time having Afternoon Tea here and still great. The staff are amazing. They are welcoming, friendly and attentive. The Afternoon Tea for 2 is tasty and fresh. We also ordered scrambled eggs on toast for our 8month old. He enjoyed it, as did I. It's the best scrambled eggs I've ever had. Came out hot, too, which was even better. Would 100% recommend without a doubt.”

“Excellent takeaway and dine in. Highly recommend the tandoori rolls, which naans filled with your choice with a salad and sauce- sounds basic but the quality makes all the difference. Not to mention, the family running it are all lovely and friendly.”

“Highly recommend!! Food, service and atmosphere excellent!!! I called up before to see if we could book and lucky they had an hour free to offer us a table for 2, I also mentioned I am celiac and it was no issue at all. When we arrived it was fairly busy but that didn’t affect the service or friendly atmosphere. The waiter remembered I mentioned celiac/gf. We ordered the summer rolls and chicken wings (none gluten free) and they offered to make the chicken wings gluten free which meant I could try them too! I could have eaten 10! They were so tasty!! I had the traditional pho for my main, the broth was full of flavour and lots of coriander which I love!! My partner ordered drunken chicken noodles which I wanted to try but it wasn’t GF, they said they could make it GF next time, which is great news! It’s more often places offer to make food gluten free so this was a pleasant surprise. They definitely accommodate GF needs. Everything tasted so good!! You wouldn’t think it was gluten free, I would definitely recommend to anyone, celiac or not! I’ll definitely be going back again.”

“From placing the order with a lovely lady on the phone to collecting our delicious Chinese, this is one of the best Chinese meals we've ever had. The prices were amazing, the taste was incredible (we had 2 Dim Sum platters, a chow mein and a special fried rice, all for just £26.60) So excited to have a new fave takeaway!”

“Had the carvery. All the vegetables were lovely, perfectly cooked. Roasties would have been nicer with a fluffier type of potato. Roast beef beautiful. Perfect apple crumble with loads of custard. Lovely waitress and lovely manager from the Hesketh which closed down and is still missed.”

“I must have driven past this place a thousand times, and had never considered sitting down to eat, as it looks nothing much from outside, but then I was invited for lunch here. “Was recommended to this little gem by my son the food was absolutely amazing I had the king prawns on sourdough the sauce was just amazing it was followed by spicy lamb koftas on a flatbread and again it was beautiful it was totally filling meal. I would recommend this venue to everyone. The chef must be a magician as we didn’t wait very long for our starters and main meal. The young lady who was serving us and bringing our food was very busy but was polite knowledgeable about some of our parties allergies and always had a smile on her face nothing was a trouble. The staff at the bar were very polite and smiling all the time. We had a wonderful evening and made our stay there absolutely great. The staff at the venue are a credit to the owner and management.”

“Great value, Martin the landlord was super helpful and accommodating with our check in times, calling me to say he was happy to open up early so we could drop our bags and grab the key allowing us to head off for the start of Rockstock. Nice pub too with a friendly atmosphere and great pint of Madri. Thanks guys.”

“The pizza at Gardeners Arms, Greene King is absolutely delicious! The crust is perfectly crispy, the sauce is flavorful, and the toppings are fresh and plentiful. “Visited on a Sunday evening, place was quiet, large selection of drinks (deals on shots) place was clean and modern, good atmosphere. Staff were excellent, friendly and welcoming, would I visit here again, absolutely.”

“Please see menu, up to date at 26 Sept 2018 Got curried beef, sweet sour chicken, fish & chips. All excellent other menu items chips £1.40 large chips £2.10 fish £3.20 pies £1.50 favorite chip shop in the area, they also got 5 / 5 food hygiene rating form the council :)”

“What a bloody amazing pub! The last and final remaining public house I've visited in Poynton and I'm absolutely ashamed of myself that it wasn't the first pub I'd ever visited! I've driven past well over a thousand times in the last ten years after the traffic chaos on the mad mile and I've never popped in. More fool me than you I promise! Now... I've never felt so guilty I've never popped in. If you want airs and graces, go elsewhere. This is a no-nonsense pub with a down to earth owner with plainspoken patrons. The locals here are as welcoming as the owners. Considering it was my debut visit and they hadn't a clue who I was they treated me like family but I was just some randomer who came in with a little Jack Russel! I walked in here with my dog and she was instantly welcomed. No other pub in the village except Cask has ever extended the same virtue, we've always been asked to leave or sit outside! I'm really sorry not to remember the landlady's name but she was so nice to our group. I did promise her a revisit so I hope to update the review in due course. Thanks for having us x”

“Stopped into this pub on the way home from a weekend wedding to break up our journey. The chef and host could not do anymore for us. The food (mikes kitchen) was delicious I had a chicken roast and my husband had a homemade pie. Our daughter is a fussy eater they accommodated her perfectly. Staff were very friendly and easy to talk to, as we left they were setting up for karaoke, wish we weren't leaving.”

About £13 on average for a plate of food and a drink . Pool table available and you can order from the app. Straight to the table . Really good staff who come over and check all is good and say hello and goodbye as you enter and leave . Nice pub . Nice staff well worth a visit”

I love the Boars Head I've been frequently the place since I was a teenager and now I live in Ireland I still make a point of going in the place when I return to my home town of Stockport. It's a nice traditional pub with a warm and friendly clientele with beers and spirits at very reasonable prices.”

“Been coming in the George for few weeks now after not being here for couple of years. Food menu has changed and is really good. Two meals for £12 on certain days. Can not complain one bit. Bar staff actually have a smile on their faces and make you feel welcome. Quiz nights music pool table live football all a bonus. Dog friendly”

“The Carousel has recently had a makeover and I attended their VIP opening evening. There was a buzzing atmosphere, friendly staff and taster bites of the menu going around the room. The renovated space is lovely and is a perfect choice for a casual drink or bite to eat!”
