“Beautiful scenery, there were a little rocky/sandy beach too. Lovely day out. We walked about 5 miles. It has ups and downs, so the surface is not flat which we liked. There was a pay and display carpark but the security didn't let us in as it was full. We parked up the road. Free of charge. Went in beginning of August.”

Chris and his partner the owners really nice down to earth people, if your in Uppermill pls go find this lovely lil hidden cafe entrance is on the front and go downstairs really well appointed estab sit on the river and forget about the daily grind also some under canope seating if the weather's not the best.”

“We have had a new kitchen installed by Wrights Interiors. From the first point of making contact with the company, they have been absolutely brilliant and so customer focused. Lisa came to our address and discussed what we wanted. We then went to their premises and chose styles, colours, handles and appliances. Both Lisa and Joe were very knowledgeable regarding the whole process. Joe provided us with a quote which was very reasonable. There was no pushy sales pitch and we were given the time to consider our options. We employed Wrights to fully rip out our existing kitchen and supply a full new one, including installing a new ceiling and plastering the walls. Joe kept in contact in the run up to the work starting, which was around one month from first making contact with Wrights. The fitting process from ripping out to finishing up took around a week. The staff doing the fitting and plastering (Phil, Glen and Danny, as well as the gas engineers) were absolutely brilliant and so accommodating. Nothing appears to be too much trouble for them, or the company. All of the old kitchen and any rubbish generated was disposed of promptly by Wrights and any issues were quickly ironed out. The whole process went very smoothly and they kept any inconvenience to an absolute minimum. The new kitchen looks brilliant. I would definitely recommend Wrights Interiors, Shaw to others and will definitely use their services again.”

“Fantastic family atmosphere as always. Sunday lunch is undoubtedly the best around. Summer time you have the beer garden with play area for the children and fabulous views. Winter time you have the cosy log fire and exceptional red wine.”

“A lovely cafe with welcoming staff members. They are in the perfect spot for a bite to eat at the end of your walk. They accept cards as well as cash and the prices are reasonable. A Kelly's ice cream on a nice cone was £3. There are toilets too. Parking can be difficult on weekends but we've never struggled in the week”

“After visiting the Tooth Place Dental surgery I would highly recommend Dr. Chaudhary as he is an excellent dentist! He’s knowledgeable, gentle, and truly cares about his patients. I usually feel anxious at the dentist, but he made the experience comfortable and stress-free. His staff is also friendly and professional, which made my entire visit smooth. “Absolutely love Strinesdale foot paths and 2 large Reservoir's that allow fishing. It also has free parking and is that vast of a space you can walk round it and not bump in to anyone. Strinesdale also has a few picnic areas and amazing views out to the Pennines. There are 3 different routes you can take for that casual stroll or if you are looking to explore of the beat and track you can end up right in the hills and come out at a little farm house. All in all this is one of my favourite places to walk my dog and would recommend it to anyone.”

“Had a couple of beers here on a Friday evening. The guest beer was in great condition and the bar staff were really friendly. Plenty of parking next to the pub. Sports were being shown on multiple screens. Would recommend and visit again.”

I was served by a wonderful friendly person, but I didn’t get her name. She had piercings and cool hair and she asked about my piercings and my current yarn project.
