Fun experiences in Oldham

“An amazing 3 year journey with Aim High. My daughter has enjoyed her online lessons with fabulous teachers who not only teach but interact to make the lessons enjoyable. My daughter was confident to sit her GCSE’s especially after having the extra booster sessions. Communication has been excellent and I greatly appreciate catering for our last minute needs. I would highly recommend Aim High, an asset service to our young leaders.”

“This review will be updated with more photos eventually! Smashville Oldham is head and shoulders above the competition in the area. Using well seasoned prime mince and having some of the best chicken tenders around, there are many reasons to make a second order here. Initially, we bought the munch box, which comprises of a choice of two patties, two tacos, two tenders, a portion of chips, drinks and a waffle. I can't explain in words how good the box is, because each bit is as different and flavoursome as the last. The products in the pictures are a set of their seasoned tenders, Korean (spicy) tenders and a biscoff waffle. The chicken has a light batter that is crunchy to the taste and is smothered in Korean spicy sauce. Stronger than buffalo, it's something most people will find a comfortable level of heat. The review left here has to state that Just Eat are a shocking method to choose to buy food from these guys through. At no fault of their own, the Just Eat driver we had either ate or lost part of the order. Smashville went above and beyond to try and arrange a remedy on the day, but being a Friday it was busy and just not possible. They have however, made upon request, the missing elements of the order with some free additional tenders and a waffle to boot. I have genuinely never had a takeaway where the staff have been as polite or gone above and beyond to fix an issue that wasn't even their fault. We will be returning to Smashville and I encourage you to do the same. Screw Just Eat.”

“Fantastic venue! We used this for the street comp, a stones throw from the bus station and a huge carpark next to the centre it's perfect for the commute by public transport or your own, we had the mini bus outside , it was a brill day and the hall was perfect for what we needed.”

“Been coming here for about a year now with my three kids. The staff are brilliant - they’re patient with the children and really take their time to get the fit right. Never had issues with shoes being too tight or too loose afterwards. Makes shoe shopping so much easier as a parent. Would definitely recommend.”

“We hired the marvel bouncy castle and slide for my little ones 4th birthday. The kids had an absolute blast on it. The added feature of a slide kept them entertained for hours. “First trip to Oldham town centre for almost 50 years! Oldham road once had pubs on almost every corner as you headed there from Manchester City Centre, many from the long gone Oldham brewery. Madge fancied a trip on the Metro and we spotted this pub in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Well worth the trip for just this corner pub. A bank of ten real ales. Great vibe plus a front pavement seating area. Madge found a new Oldham brewery..We are Wolf. Bar snacks incl sausage rolls. Great visit.”

“Excellent micro tap bar inside the indoor market hall. Lovely bar spread across 3 market units of space inside Tommyfield indoor market hall, very cosy and comfy little bar. Good choices of alcohol/ale's, Drink prices are really good value and not expensive at all! Friendly bar staff and lovely customers who seem to very chatty and welcoming. You can easily strike up good conversation in this bar and make new friends. This place is very much welcomed in the indoor market hall bringing new customers and faces to a part of the market hall that was a bit empty, Please support this little bar and visit Cob and Coal.”

“Just been to watch 'Everyone's talking about Jamie'. Wow, just wow. What a brilliant production. I cried, properly cried and I turned to my friend who was also crying. The acting capability was outstanding. The venue, lovely, small and perfectly adequate. Never been to a show at the Playhouse before, but would 100% return. What an amazing night watching some talented young and older actors.”

“Beautiful scenery, there were a little rocky/sandy beach too. Lovely day out. We walked about 5 miles. It has ups and downs, so the surface is not flat which we liked. There was a pay and display carpark but the security didn't let us in as it was full. We parked up the road. Free of charge. Went in beginning of August.”

“Really nice lil cafe, friendly staff, the coffee here is amaaaaazingly good a must try also the food looks top drawer!!! Chris and his partner the owners really nice down to earth people, if your in Uppermill pls go find this lovely lil hidden cafe entrance is on the front and go downstairs really well appointed estab sit on the river and forget about the daily grind also some under canope seating if the weather's not the best.”

“Beautiful. Located in the quaint town of Uppermill, this chic cafe bar is a faithful spinoff of one of Uppermill’s best cafes, Caffe Grande Abaco. This cafe bar has a nice rustic and authentic atmosphere, like a traditional cafe bar you may find in Italy. Also, the staff are really friendly (10/10), especially Nigel (the owner), who was great to me. Plus, I went to Caffe Grande Abaco for 10 years, and it was quite emotional to meet Nigel, as I was always asking the staff at Caffe Grande Abaco, “Is the owner in?”. Now, back to Veloce! The cafe offers a variety of drinks, handpicked from CGA (at this point, I’m going to shorten it - Caffe Grande Abaco). So, you can have a nice latte or a cosy hot chocolate while you chill and warm up here. Surprisingly, it is also a deli, since they have charcuterie meats and cheeses, condiments, authentic Mediterranean pastries and biscuits, and even freshly baked bread (so authentic!). I tried Rogers Pistachio Cruffin (mix between a croissant and a muffin) which was crispy and flaky on the outside, but fluffy and indulgent on the inside, and the silky pistachio cream made it even better. Perfect for breakfast! They also do sandwiches here, with fresh sourdough and scrumptious meats and cheeses and even flaky sausage rolls. What I really want to mention, however, is the fact that they are supporting local businesses. Most things here (the pastries, products and even honey) are made by small businesses in towns near Uppermill, which is really nice as Veloce is helping out those businesses. Overall, this place is a must if you are looking for a proper Italian cafe bar, and some delicious food. It is also perfect if you want to buy some charcuterie meats and cheeses, as they have a wide variety of them. Only complaint is, Veloce really needs to bring in some Arancini, as I don’t see much Arancini in Saddleworth, and I’m very sad about that. “Nipple pierced. I was concerned about the healing process and was a little apprehensive. However, Irene reassured me with her professional demeanour, sterile studio, and clear details on how to clean my piercing. Definitely would go back to! Also, if you’re a female getting an intimate area pierced, she’s a good lady to go to!”

“I’ve been coming to The Hare and Hounds in Middleton week after week, and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad experience here. From the classic Sunday roast to the rotating chef’s specials, the food is consistently 10/10 — it’s far beyond what you’d expect from pub food and easily rivals high-end restaurants. Every dish is beautifully presented, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked. Portion sizes are generous, and the prices are almost unbelievable given the quality you get. Drinks are also great value, with top brands served at very reasonable prices. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help, no matter how busy it gets. They always do their best to accommodate everyone including dietary needs, and make you feel right at home. Whether you’re after a comforting roast, a special night out, or just a few drinks in a warm atmosphere, this place delivers every time. Highly recommended — easily one of the best pubs in the area!”
