“I’m very pleased with AMS Circumcisions Clinic. The process took about 15 minutes, and the staff were helpful throughout. The clear messages and guidance on aftercare, swelling, and bathing made recovery easier. Sending photos for reassurance was a great option. I would definitely recommend AMS Circumcisions Clinic to family and friends.”

“I can’t thank Mr Kim and his team enough. The work they do is life changing and I’m fortunate enough to be the recipient of a robot assisted hip replacement performed by Mr Kim. Throughout the entire process, Mr Kim has been open, kind, considerate and caring and an absolute leader in his field of work. I can’t recommend him highly enough.”

“I’ve had a long history of knee issues starting at the age of 14 with my first major surgery taking place when I was 17 and subsequent arthroscopies and a resurfacing surgery at 50 years old. My knee pain returned in the summer of 2023. I consulted by GP and commenced on the NHS pathway which started with a course of physio which further increased my pain, I asked to be referred to an orthopaedic specialist and was given an MRI scan which showed I had extensive knee issues including a ruptured ACL, torn tendons and extensive joint wear and tear. I was referred to the NHS for a consultation and by this time was using crutches and was unable to walk very far at all – not only was my knee hurting it was affecting my hip and even my other knee which had never been an issue. The waiting list for the initial consultation was 21 weeks and was told that the wait time for any type of knee surgery was 18-24 months after the initial consultation. So after some badgering by my family, I agreed to investigate having the surgery done privately. I contacted a couple of clinics in the UK and with the cost of a total knee replacement starting at £21K I decided to look at getting the surgery done abroad. I contacted Operations Abroad Worldwide after completing some due diligence of my own (I work in compliance) and was quickly contacted by Gillian and initially I was told surgery could be done in Poland. However, after completing the in depth patient questionnaire, due to other health issues, it was decided that I would have my surgery at the renowned Zan Metriev Clinic in Skopje, Macedonia. At all stages of the process Gillian was available to answer my questions, some of which were very silly!! Gillian advised me of additional insurance, provided me with airline information – everything was so smooth. And within a few weeks I had a surgery date arranged. I travelled to Skopje on 11th November and was met at the airport by my driver, Goran and was whisked to the clinic where I was put through so many pre-operative tests and was reassuring given a clean bill of health. The surgery was performed on 12th November and stayed in hospital for two weeks before travelling home on 25th November. At all stages I was supported by Gillian, and the hospital team in Skopje. Of course there were some language issues, but a combination of Google translate and sign language got us through. Physio was provided every day. All my needs were fully met by the hospital and all I needed to take were toiletries, books and things to entertain me during my stay. The hospital staff were so friendly, there were so many of them, everyone knew about me and was able to help. My surgeon visited me most days, even at the weekend, and the physio provided was of high quality. I was even shown how to use Kinesio tape to help support my recovering joint and reduce swelling. When it was time for me to return to the UK I was driven back to the airport and the driver arranged for a wheelchair and I had booked special assistance, so my feet didn’t really touch the ground until I was back in the UK. I would (and already have) recommend Operations Abroad Worldwide as the service provided was so reassuring. I was nervous about going abroad for surgery and it took me out of my comfort zone, but Gillian and her wider team provided me with reassurance and gave me confidence that everything would be ok, and it was. I am now 5-weeks post-surgery and already have seen benefits with a massive reduction in knee pain. Of course, there is some discomfort associated with rehab and surgery, but I know I am on the road to a full recovery and being totally pain free this time next year.”

“My prostate problems arose following a relatively routine eye operation; basically, after the operation, I found I could not urinate. A catheter was fitted and there followed nearly five months under the care of a local NHS hospital with visits to A and E, UTIs, large amounts of blood in the urine, extreme pain, soreness, and such like. At one point I was hospitalised for eight days and an emergency operation was performed to cauterise bleeds from the prostate. Quality of life suffered. Day-to-day tasks became a trial, visits were curtailed and holidays cancelled. Finally, I was referred for a HoLEP procedure under the NHS but, because of the long waiting time and the loss of quality of life I opted for the operation to be performed at Spire Manchester by Mr Matthew Liew. The operation was performed within a few weeks from initial consultation. At that initial consultation, the procedure was thoroughly explained and all my questions answered. I was extremely satisfied with the treatment that I received during all my time at Spire Manchester under Mr Liew's care. Post-op, the staff were kind, attentive and supportive. They explained how the operation had gone and what to expect in the coming days and weeks. My recovery so far has followed what was outlined; blood in the urine ceased after about ten days and incontinence has diminished week by week and although still present it has only been six weeks since the operation; it is manageable and much improved since the early weeks. What has changed is my general quality of life. As my wife said, it's given us our lives back since we must be aware of the impact that this has not just on ourselves but on friends and loved-ones too. We are extremely grateful for everything that Mr Liew and the other staff have done for us and we would highly recommend this route to anyone. If I can add any further detail I would be delighted to do so.”
