“I'm not local, I was visiting family and couldn't handle the state my hair was in any longer (growing out an undercut, fine hair)! They don't do dry cuts, but my wet cut was affordable and quick - the person who did the shampoo was great. The hair dresser knew exactly how to save my hair and try and make my thin fine mess look thicker. I'm not much of a talker at the hairdressers (too much else going on, loud hair dryers) but they were friendly and we had a bit of a chat. Got offered a drink when I arrived, there's a coat hook, your hair gets washed in a different room, which I liked, and it's cash only. I'm so happy with my haircut.”

“Trying out the walk in blow dry bar today...I was seen to immediately, Lily did a great blow dry and was friendly and welcoming to myself and my baby girl. The salon itself was clean and comfortable, and my baby loved looking at the colourful walls and 'bubble' light fixture...keeping her entertain for the duration of my appointment ✨️ 10/10 would go again.”

“I discovered Kevin via a friend last October and am very impressed by his skill and knowledge. At other salons, I'd think I'd had a good cut but the effect was due to the finish and disappeared after a week or so. The style was always the same! Kevin listens and responds to my wishes but also has ideas that suit me - I'm looking forward to some great styles. My hair looks good not only on the day it's cut but stays that way until my next visit. Kevin and Kanya make me welcome and I know my hair is in safe hands. Thanks to you both”

“I had my 1-1 training course with Danielle today, and it was truly amazing! I was quite anxious before the course, but Danielle quickly put me at ease. Her teaching technique is fantastic, and I walked away feeling like I smashed it and gained so much confidence.The Theory session was extremely informative, with learning materials that were both descriptive and easy to understand. During the practical part, Danielle went into great detail with each hair extension method, and she was incredibly patient and kind. What stood out the most was how Danielle shared difficult scenarios she’s encountered in her career. “Finally got a chance to write this review I booked my two little boys for hairdo style (a bit of gel) for my two young boys at Studio 8 barbers on the day of a family wedding. We turned up, and they said we had no appointment and had booked the wrong date (I did not, I mentioned the date twice at time of booking). I was freaking out as the wedding was in 1 hour. The barbers did not offer any advice/help, very cold towards us, and we walked out in a panic. Frantically, ran to The HIVE Barbers and we were welcomed with open arms. Did not have an appointment but kindly offered to help and calmed us down straight away. Styled both boys hair with a little gel, all done in less than 5 mins and didn't even charge a penny. Boys looked really smart, and style lasted all day. So so grateful for a kind-hearted, caring local business who actually care for local residents and went out his way, knowing the circumstances around the importance of the day. Did not profit a penny, yet gained a lot of respect and have spread of this kind, wonderful business. This happened summer 2024, sorry for late review.”
