“Signed up to the beginners class as I had bought a new camera and wanted to get the best out of it. I can’t recommend this course enough. It was fabulous. Mix of theory and practice with no jargon. Suitable for even the most beginner like me or someone that wants to get the best out of their camera - why go for average? Glen will give his professional photographer outlook to get a better than average picture what to do and look out for to get a good photo. It was worth every penny. When I got home put into practice what I had learned….. Thanks Glen”

    The Lilacs

“Visited for the first time this Sunday afternoon after having spied the Lilacs whilst out for a walk a couple of weeks previously. What a lovely place, a bit TARDIS like, it's bigger on the inside than it looks this is a really nice pub, with a big open airy restaurant and multiple outside spaces. The Sunday menu is good, not a wide selection, but everything on the menu appears to be well balanced and from our experience is done well. We had starters, carvery and dessert and all were lovely. The carvery was one of the best I've had, veg wasn't overcooked or dried out from being sat on the hot plate too long, the meat was juicy, tender and cooked nicely and the cauliflower cheese I could have eaten by the gallon. A delightful selection of desserts were on display in the cabinet, and the chocolate and cheesy mousse dessert I selected was beautiful, a rich deep flavour whilst still being light enough after a big meal. Topped it all off with a latte with Bailey's in and I was a happy man. The staff were all really friendly, and very attentive and helpful, service was quick and came with smiles and personality. We're already looking at when we can return to try the regular evening menu and another of the cakes from the cabinet.”

“Great historic location with many interesting aspects of life during WWII. Nice friendly staff with lots of knowledge, well worth the small sum of £5 for entry. Called into the museum the day after attending the Shuttleworth evening flying display this weekend, If I lived nearer I would visit regularly. Credit to all those enthusiasts involved.”

    Panacea Museum

“Really interesting place to visit, once the headquarters of the Panacea Society and home of 'Octavia,' the daughter of God (according to the followers,!) The Society was a Southcottian sect that really established itself in the years following the Great War and when the last member died in the first decade of the 21st century the Society ended and a charitable trust took over the properties and opened them as a museum. It's a fascinating window into a movement that was very significant in the 1920's and 30's but has largely been forgotten now. The museum is a real time capsule and it's free to visit. Peaceful gardens, preserved interiors, an incredible story and knowledgeable staff and volunteers. If you're in Bedford it's a must!”

“Perfectly functional junction, can see how it would prevent serious road collisions. However, missed a trick or two here. No actual circus anywhere to be seen. At the very least, no refreshments available. I’m wondering whether to reconsider my world tour of original pedestrian crossings now.”

“Shuckburgh Hall Deer Park (private estate) can be seen by anyone from the public footpath which crosses it, of course the deer keep their distance and it seems they can smell your approach, but that makes the glimpses of the deer more precious. There is a tall gate to pass through at any of the entrances. Parking: by the church in Lower Shuckburgh and there is a footpath, or you can walk from Flecknoe village.”
