“I received a first-class service today from RS Mechanics that I absolutely cannot fault! After searching online for a local mobile mechanic to replace my rear brake discs and pads (I had nothing left on one pad and was grinding metal on metal), Richard came to my rescue. I called him for the first time at 10:30am this morning and by 6pm, my car was sporting shiny new brakes and was back on the road! Richard listened to my wishes and sourced the premium grade parts that I requested, picked them up and then squeezed me into his busy day so that I could drive my daughter to her drama exams in the morning. “100% recommend. Took my new to me MX5 in to look at the tie rod and oil change. These people are mx5 specialists. Ive noticed the brakes are not very good and heard some other random noises in my car which I wasn't sure was normal or not as my car hasn't been ran in a while. He was able to point out those things wrong with my brakes and bushes which explains why it felt odd and was a good thing that I took it here. Staff were very friendly and informative.”

“Chris and the guys at Barford van hire were so helpful, firstly when we hired a Movano in May 2025, which I returned early after 4 hours. Then 2 days later I hired a DAF 7.5T lorry for a day to help with a house move. All went well until I was returning it in the evening. I was about 2 miles away on the rural road leading to Barford when an over-hanging tree branch clipped the big nearside door mirror, which shattered and disappeared. I knew I’d have to pay for a replacement and was expecting a big bill, but was pleasantly surprised to receive an invoice for just £108. They will also give you 10% of the hire price if you have a Blue Light Card. I would definitely hire a vehicle from Barford Van & Car Hire again. Updated on 29/9/25 We booked to hire another 7.5T lorry but had to cancel just hours before picking it up today. Chris was so understanding and gave us a full refund, which was amazing. I doubt that many other companies would have acted this way. The guy below gave a ridiculous 1 star review because Barford have a 150 mile per day hire limit after which you pay just 12p per additional mile, therefore if he wanted to do 250 miles it would have cost just an extra £12 when he returned the vehicle. The hire from Enterprise would probably have cost at least £12 more. Clearly he didn’t do the maths.”

“Excellent service from start to finish. Repaired my Landrover Freelander following a no fault accident resulting in damaged bumper which looked like it required a new one. However, the mechanics at Gooch were able to repair it and within 3 days it was as good as new. First class service from reception and the manager and all the team. I would thoroughly recommend this honest reliable garage. Thanks again for excellent service.”

“I was away in Norwich for a week and my first Sunday disaster. Went to Fast Fit in Salhouse rd and Sandy solved the problem. Temporary repair Sunday to keep me safe and Monday fitted a new back box and tailpipe. The service I received was second to none. While in the waiting room I observed how these guys treat their customers. Total respect, empathy and they explain everything making sure the customer understands their situation. All businesses should operate this way.”
