“2025 update We have visited here for many years and this was the first time we were disappointed. 1 order of a vegetarian breakfast baguette (meant to have hash brown, eggs, sausage etc) only had the veggie sausage in it. I also ordered 2 pots of tea to share by 4 people. I was given 1 pot and when I asked for the second pot it was told it had the same amount as 2 pots in it (we squeezed 3 small cups from this pot) . I explained that it didn't wasn't correct and also that we needed 2 more cups. The server didn't seem happy to comply, but she eventually brought 2 more cups over. A vegetarian breakfast is now £10.50. I big increase, but that's the sign of the times. We also ordered scones for 4 people. This is where the disappointment set in. In the past these have been huge fresh scones with the cream and jam served in pots for you to add yourself. Now these are just small scones, nothing special about them, and the jam and cream are put on for your. It takes away part of the enjoyment. A small scone with butter, jam and cream was £5.10 so very expensive now. I would not return to buy this again, which is a shame as we have visited this cafe many times over the years. ,................ 2021 update extended seating area outside. Slightly different menu, lovely falafel wraps and pancakes added. Salt and paper Pots removed due to covid. Vegetarian breakfast is great value at £6.99 and very tasty. I like that they allow you to swap items too. ,............ We visit here each time we visit Whitsand bay. Waited a short while for the scones but they were freshly baked. Very generous portion sizes. Love the quirky salt and pepper shakers. Such stunning views all around. Cream tea was £4.50 per person. Large scones, loads of cream and jam and a huge pot of tea. Menu includes a fantastic range of baguettes and sandwiches. Lots of vegetarian choice. A nice casual cafe right on the cliff. No good for wheelchair access.”
“Stumbled across this place quite late in the evening looking for somewhere to have dinner. They squeezed us in and the ambience of the restaurant was just lovely. The service by all waitresses and the owner was spot on. The food was perfect! You could tell a lot of pride has gone into this little place. I would definitely go back if in the area and highly recommend”
“Greta place to dine and great atmosphere The restaurant is on the first floor and overlooks the harbour and quay. Some quirky architecture makes this place fun and spacious, large glass windows give good views of the yachts docked in the harbour. Food was lovely, served quite quickly and of good portions. Had burgers, carbonara (with chicken) and Milanese chicken. All really tasty meals. Good selection of desserts too. Service was good and staff were attentive. Would recommend a visit and eat here. Has its own parking so no need to pay parking elsewhere. Though one part of the car park says 3 hours and the other says permit only. The one car park has both and you can stay for up to 3 hours for free when dining at the restaurant”
“Really nice deli and café, with a big range of salads, pastries and pastries. Lots of nice options to sit down and eat and loads of nice fancy food to buy. Would be nice if there were some highchairs”
“I visited the Lemon Tree in Elburton today. I must say the customer service is one of the best I have had, from the moment I walked in the door I was made to feel welcome. The café was lovely and clean, the decor makes you feel like you are in a sunny climate, even on a cloudy day. The owners have put so much thought into everything, even the nice music playing. The food was lovely. The menu is not too big but everything you want is there and cooked so well.i had the Lemon Tree eggs and Toast, it is so nice to find a café that can cook bacon and eggs properly and with the added touch of avocado and chilli flake just topped it off perfectly. The presentation was so nice. I cannot wait to come again and try more dishes. I also look forward to coming one evening to try the evening menu. This café has always been a credit to the village, and I think under the new owners they are continuing that.”
“For a small village cafe, this place ticks all the boxes. I started going here a couple of years back, just after lock down. I found an amazing array of cakes and delicious cafe food. I believe that most of what is on offer is home made. The cakes are always different and always amazing. Some of the best cheesecake I've tasted has been here. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Even if it is really hectic and busy, which it can get. It is very popular. The views over the river are lovely and in nice weather there is outside seating to enjoy too. Inside you have nice views and loads of local crafts and arty things you can buy as well. It just feels really welcoming. I have spent a fair bit of time sat there "working" on my laptop whilst enjoying a hot drink and some good grub. It is even dog friendly. So you can take your furry friend along to enjoy the atmosphere too. I would recommend this place any time. It even has better opening hours than a lot of places in Torpoint. Well done Hearts. Recent update - Had their chicken club sandwich recently. It was delicious. All the ingredients were lovely and fresh and it came with some nice chips.”
“Love peace snacks... "Whitleigh/Honickowle "... amazing... lovely food... lovely staff... top owners... been using the place for around 12yrs”
“A beautiful and cosy place that offers good foods and excellent waiting service. Also the restaurant has an amazing sea views.”
“Cycled here from Exeter on a bright sunny day. It was an hour’s ride on mostly flat path. Enjoyed a scone and some coffee. Lovely views and location. Plenty of inside, under the roof and open seating to enjoy the food and drinks. We were there before noon and the lunch starts at noon so could only have the items off breakfast menu. Would definitely recommend and will definitely cycle back there again.”
“I’m a regular visitor to The Pasty House in Tavistock and Plymouth. Always great food, attentive table service, and with a smile too. I always find it good value for money too!”
