“A wonderful mixed woodland near to Oakamoor and between Cgeadke and Alton Towers. The site us owned and managed by the National Trust, access is free with plenty of parking at a layby, or in a small dedicated car park about further along the road from Cheadle. A variety of wildlife is on offer if you're lucky enough to see it and walking is medium difficulty with one or two trickier sections dotted about. Rarely more than a handful of people here.”

I had the most amazing sleep in my kids wake up in the morning. First thing they said it was this beds are amazing hah the service was 100%. Food was amazing The stuff was great. “What a lovely museum, with working water wheels and such friendly and knowledgeable volunteers! We arrived with about 20 minutes until close and Nick gave us the full tour with such enthusiasm and perfectly aimed to capture the kids imagination. Highly recommend this small, but perfectly formed gem. Also learnt loads we didn’t know about the local industry and entrepreneurialism from hundreds of years ago.”

“Palm Brook runs from hammersley Hayes in Cheadle and joins cecilly Brook behind the old silk mill. Along it's banks water voles (Ratty from The Wind in The Willows) can be seen, also Kingfishers, Bats, Herons and Buzzards are often here. Wellies may be required in wet weather. The JCB factory has now gone and a new housing development in its place. The nature reserve has not been spoilt by this.”

“The Hales Hall caravan and camping site is in Cheadle Staffordshire. It's a large site that provides both tent and caravan pitches. They also have the choice of 3 types of wooden lodges which looks lovely but they are limited to just a few. On this site they have a statley home which as a restaurant that you can book a table even if you are not staying at the site. They have a bar with a good selection of drinks and friendly staff. They have all the amenities needed to make your stay comfortable toilets and showers blocks. This site is close to the Alton towers theme park and also a great place to stay if you want to explore some of Staffordshires beautiful walks and trials”
