Really hospitable when we arrived very late (18/09/25) due to car problems. Our comfortable rooms/bathrooms looked like they had recently been refurbished. Rooms were clean with plenty of tea/coffee bottled water and biscuits. A small TV was ok. Breakfast was not available during our visit. Looks like the pub is a bit of a 'work in progress' but certainly a great place to stop over if your walking in the PD. Great Landlady very helpful would stay again.

Recently attended for a meal for the second time and both occasions had problems to report. As it was the second time, we asked to speak to the manager who we were told was on the premises but wouldn’t come to see us. When a customer has a problem at the very least as a manager, you should make yourself available instead of dumping the responsibility on your staff (who were really good and was clearly embarrassed their manager couldn’t be bothered!) My advice is visit the Bullshead or George Hotel instead where facilities and service is fantastic. We won’t make the mistake of trying 3rd time lucky at Farmyard. There’s a clue in the name manager to manage your establishment instead of expecting your staff to do your job for you!

The only good thing I can say about this place is it's in a pretty village. Miserable staff that didn't make us feel welcome, awful thick wine glasses. Expensive! charged us £12.45 for a large rose and a lime and soda. The "I ❤️ Rosé" is £6.45 in Tesco for a bottle and is a terrible wine. The pub smelled awful so we went to sit outside, the benches are rickety and uncomfortable and the toilets were questionable. Couldn't wait to leave.

A fantastic place to stay, can't wait to go back! I was travelling with a baby so emailed ahead to check suitability. The staff were very helpful and suggested I book the Stables as it's a separate building to the others. The room was very spacious; even with a cot, pushchair and changing mat in the room there was still plenty of space for me to pace around in the middle of the night. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was amazing. I love a hot shower and am usually disappointed, but here I had to turn the water down which is very rare. The bed seemed a bit soft to start with but actually was very comfy, and there was no noise from the pub aside from twice we heard another guest coming and going. The location was fab, with plenty of walks right on your doorstep and a short distance to Bakewell I'd definitely recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat

Welcome back to the Farmyard! Re-opened and now spruced up and with a great menu. We enjoyed Steak and Ale pie with lovely chips, good veg, plenty of tasty gravy and top rate pastry. Timothy Taylor Landlord on tap and very easy listening, quiet, music. Nothing to complain about. And a complimentary treat for the dog too! Well done Richard and team.

Popped in for Sunday lunch. A lovely country pub atmosphere with open fire blazing. We were made to feel really welcome by staff and customers too. Food was beautiful and arrived quickly. My husband had the beef, whilst I had the pork both of which were beautiful. We will go back again and highly recommend.

Everything was delicious and you get a huge portion! Potatoes in the Sunday roast were excellent - beautifully salty and spiced. The landlord was very friendly and so was the barwoman, very chatty and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere too - a really nice warm fire and a friendly atmosphere.

I've been told by my good lady to score this place highly we'd never been before but the atmosphere was great. The banter from the staff and the locals was welcoming and it felt like we were local too. The food was good the good lady ate it all and trust me that says a lot. The question is would we go back if we were in the area "yes" is the answer...

During a house hunting trip over 4 days, I had the pleasure to stay in The Stables which was very comfortable and great for a peaceful nights sleep. Each morning I enjoyed a hearty English breakfast, wonderfully cooked by Richard, the new landlord, who was only too pleased to ensure I had a wonderful stay. Each afternoon upon my return, I was greeted with a friendly smile and enjoyed some wonderful beers chatting to Chloe and Richard and the locals who made me feel very welcome. I would very much recommend the Farmyard Inn where you can ensure you’ll have a wonderful stay, great meals and wonderful well kept beer. Many thanks, Kevin
