   I visited this shop a few weeks ago to look at school shoes with my daughter (who will starting Reception in September). The shop was empty, and the customer service was appalling. The shop assistant was rude and condescending to me, and rolled her eyes at my daughter. She ruined what should have been a lovely experience. I won’t be visiting this shop again and have warned other parents to avoid it.

   After seeing a lovely boot in outlet at Castleford but they didn’t have my size but was told it was available for shipping but they couldn’t order it for me I rang outlet at York to see if they had it but they didn’t either. I scoured the internet to no avail. I was in York on the thurs for a show, just around the corner from the Clarks shop in Coppergate so I called in but they didn’t have the boot either but the lovely lady with blonde hair got it up & it was still available, she ordered it for me & sent to my house to save me going back to York. It took all of a few minutes she was so helpful. The boots were delivered the next day & were there when we got back early afternoon. She made my day…..10 out of 10 for service from her…..brilliant service

   I have been buying Clarks shoes for several years because I have a particular size that it's extremely hard to find in the UK. Plus I only wear shoes that are gentle with me feet. I have been searching some light shoes for the summer in few Clarks shops, but unfortunately I couldn't find my size or they were too hard and they would have ruined my feet. I've almost given up on Clarks until I entered in the York shop and I had the luck to be assisted by a very helpful staff called Deneth who managed to find me a suitable pair of light shoes that I bought. I was quite impressed because he really knew the products and he actually paid attention to what I said which is extremely rare nowadays. Hopefully, Clarks will hire more shop sellers similar with his manners and competencies.

   Manager smuggly refused me a refunded, when I was entitled to one. Had to go back to the store to explain their own policy to which they told me I was wrong.. until they actually saw it in black and white! But to top it off, the staff would not look at the policy until the manager was back from grabbing a coffee over the road (on the clock). So the 3 of us had to just awkwardly look at each until she was done. When the manager finally swanned in, she went to be back and didnt bother to come and speak to me and made her staff deal with the refund.
