Extremely Disappointing Shopping Experience – Poor Management and No Customer Care ‼️ 0:52min to checkout ‼️ Tonight’s shopping experience was nothing short of frustrating and completely avoidable. There were massive queues on both sides of the checkout area. - Out of 16 normal staffed tills, only 2 members of staff were working, while the remaining tills stood empty. - This resulted in queues of at least 38 customers waiting on the normal checkouts! - At the same time, the Trolley Shop area also had over 36 people waiting, creating unnecessary congestion and tension! To make matters worse: • Out of 16 human-operated tills in total, only 2 were in use ‼️ • All 8 Scan & Go (handheld) tills were completely closed ‼️ • Trolley Shop had 10 self-scan tills, all being heavily used with long queues and 1 operator ‼️ • The basket area, which has 12 tills in total, was almost empty because most customers had trolleys — yet all basket checkouts (card and cash) were closed at around 22:40 in the first place! This setup makes absolutely no sense and shows a total lack of planning or awareness. There was zero visible management intervention. No effort to redirect customers, open additional human operation tills, or manage the flow! (only in the last 10-20min before closing the store down - they open the Basket area!) This isn’t just poor organisation — it’s a complete failure of duty of care, especially during the Christmas period times - when higher footfall is guaranteed and expected ‼️ A business of this size, making the level of revenue it does, has no excuse for operating like this. I rarely leave negative feedback, but this experience crossed the line. The level of ignorance and complacency from management is astonishing, and it directly impacts customers and staff alike. Changes are clearly needed, because tonight’s situation was utterly unacceptable — and I’m confident many other customers would agree.

I wouldn't normally write a review for a supermarket, but I really must make a special mention for Shirley Jenkins on the self-serve who is always so friendly, helpful and professional! She always has a smile on her face and is super helpful and friendly! Thank you Asda and thank you Shirley. This world needs more people like you!

I strongly advise avoiding Asda’s Click and Collect service. I placed an order online and received all the confirmations, including a message stating my order was ready to collect in full. When I arrived, the experience was a complete failure. There was absolutely no service at the collection point, and the system did not recognize my order details. To make matters worse, the contact number provided at the point was outdated; it just directed me to a voice message telling me to call a different number. When I finally got through to customer service, they attempted to call the store directly but couldn't reach anyone either. I wasted 20 minutes trying to resolve this and ultimately had to leave without my groceries. The lack of communication between their systems, the store, and the customer is unacceptable. Save yourself the stress and shop elsewhere.

Staff are generally very friendly and helpful. Good range of products at good prices. Unfortunately it's often badly stocked so I'm never sure I'll be able to get what I need. The price tickets are also often not up to date and I've found out of date products on the shelves.

A fantastic Asda! Always love going to a Supercentre. Been to one in Milton Keynes plenty of times and whilst this one's not quite as big, it's still got great variety at decent prices and great employees too. It also contains a McDonald's, Costa and decent bus services

Went in for a quick Friday night essential shop . Only a few checkouts with operators on and they were far to busy. Went to the self service area and it took longer to check out ten items than to shop. Plus I'd stupidly bought wine and waited longer still for validation . Can't blame the staff because they were overwhelmed. Very poor service.

This is a huge supermarket. Enter on the left entrance if you're wanting to do food shopping, use the right entrance if you want to look around everything else before the food. It has a Costa and a McDonald's in the store. Scanners to do your shopping are available as you enter, toilets also available. Store was well stocked and had loads of items to choose from. Counters on the back wall also looked good with sushi and other counters with ready to eat food. I'll definitely try them next time.

Very big and good store, different food stores inside the store that prepare fresh foods for customers.

Many years ago this was a Carrefour with free samples spread throughout the store. Asda followed suit for quite a few years, but sadly this hospitality seems to have disappeared. Quite an impressive store though, with plenty of small businesses operating in there. Non essential retailing all good here, if you can't buy clothes, birthday cards, flowers elsewhere.
