   Lovely NYE gala dinner, canapes were really good, the beef wellington was excellent but the mashed potatoes were the star of the show! Everyone wanted the recipe. Staff were all fantastic, friendly and professional. Excellent choices for breafast, great location with parking. The xmas decs were tasteful, the hotel decor modern and the building is full of old world charm. The only negative for us was that it was cold in some places and the bedrooms quite small due to the age of the building. Overall an excellent NYE mini break, I highly recommend.

   Lovely place just ten minutes walk from the town. Perfect for the Christmas Market. On site parking. Great sized room with very comfortable bed. Attentive and friendly staff. Breakfast on both mornings we stayed was very good. Fabulous bar area if you just want to sit and chill of an evening. We shall definitely book here again.

   We purchased a YO1 Middleton's afternoon tea voucher for four people. The tea was excellent, the gentleman who served us was friendly, professional and welcoming even though he was busy, it was much appreciated. The finger sandwhiches were fresh and tasty, ham and lettuce, cheese and pickle and salmon and cream cheese. The fruit scones were warm and tasty, especially when the jam and cream were added. The selection of cakes was great, macaroons, brownies and other cakes. A very nice experience as a couple or when shared with friends. Many thanks to our host/waiter for making us feel valued customers.

   I can't wait to come back. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I knew I was going to enjoy my stay. The property is stunning and cozy - perfect for a mid-autumn visit. I loved my room, which was thoughtfully designed and comfortable. All of the staff made sure that my stay was fantastic. They were welcoming, offered suggestions for things to see/do, provided tasty breakfasts, made sure that the room and property were spotless, and all really seemed to care about their work. Their gardener was also on site - tending to the beautiful gardens. The location is excellent - within walking distance to the train station and City Center. I loved my daily walks along the river. I definitely intend to return.

   This hotel is just lovely and I will definitely be coming back. The building is beautiful. Location wise it's an easy, short walk into the city.I was booked for an overnight visit with my husband and everything was just great. Check in was straightforward, friendly and helpful. The room we had was perfect, small but thoughtfully planned, e.g. a drop down vanity unit was really handy, small but powerful shower with high end toiletries. The bed was very comfortable indeed. There were fluffy bathrobes, choice of pillows and a Roberts radio in the room. Lovely decor too. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked to order and served in a light, airy dining space. Choice wise there were plentiful pastries, cereals and continental options too. Staff were excellent, warm, friendly and professional. Can't wait to stay here again.

   Very cute hotel! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was great and bed and pillows were comfortable. Bar area was perfect to relax and get away from the chill outside. Location was great, about 10-15 minute walk outside city center and train station. Would absolutely stay here again, highly recommend!

   very impressed with our first stay. Definitely worth the 4 stars. staff were lovely, service great. Room had lots of thoughtful and useful extras, plus the expected robes, fridge, hairdryer, iron, radio, and great quality toiletries. Parking was £10 for a night. Look forward to seeing more next time.

   Nice hotel in a small chain. Situated a stone's throw from York town centre, it was an ideal location for our short sightseeing break. Food in the restaurant was good and the room was nice. The staff were all very pleasant and attentive. We only made it to the gym once, but it seemed will stocked and was more than sufficient for our needs.

   Stayed for two nights at this lovely hotel. The hotel room had everything you needed, even an iron and ironing board! The room was cleaned and replenished, even though we only stayed two nights. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The surrounds were gorgeous and well kept. The hotel was a 5 min walk to the town centre over the bridge. Would certainly come back again to stay. WELL DONE MIDDLETON!

   We had our wedding at Middletons Hotel in August 2022. It was the most magical day. We arranged our wedding with 4 months to go until the date. With a lot to organise, the communication and help was faultless. Becky made everything feel easy to organise and with quick response times. We were made to feel really special in the run up to the wedding (including the complimentary menu tasting) and on the day itself. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We love this hotel, beautiful rooms, architecture, an amazing backdrop for a wedding with a lovely garden for the drinks reception. On top of this, the service is 5 star quality. The staff are so nice and helpful and will bend over backwards for their guests. Location for York is central but peaceful. We will definitely return for our future anniversaries. Thank you Middletons for the best day and 3 night stay!
