Couldn’t recommend this place enough, the accommodation was comfortable and clean, with great decor, the food in the evenings was 10/10 and same goes with breakfast, the service was great too. I will definitely be back.

Although visiting, we knew this location very well. The pub itself was very nice, but bog standard.

After using the shower at night before going to bed, it repeatedly dripped through the night, waking me up. My friends staying in another room experienced the same. It wasn't too bad as once we shut the bathroom door we could not hear it.

Came for a wedding and asked 2 days prior if we could have a room early as if not I would cancel room just because we needed it, was told shouldn't be an issue call on the morning. On the morning cleaners dont start until 12 so knowing full well we couldn't have our room, I asked is there anywhere for my family to get changed ... no. I appreciate rooms aren't available until 3pm but there was no helping no accommodating and quite rude. You didnt make our day any easier only harder is my point you did nothing to help with two kids its hardwork enough. Not your issue yes but I wouldnt return just due to lack of care on the guests.

Lovely old place. Food and staff were lovely. Rooms were nice and a good size. Due to the age of the place the floors were very creaky and you could hear noise from the people sitting outside. You could also hear others when they went to their rooms. I was tired so this didn't bother me too much but if you are affected by noise probably not for you. Having said that I would stay again.

We arrived as a large group of around 11, each at slightly different times. I was concerned there would not be parking as I've driven past this place regularly, lots of parking wrapped around the building. Some lips of the parking spaces were quite high, meant a little bit of extra umph needed to leave. We were sat on two tables when one could of been made, no matter as we made do on 1 table. Atmosphere was very relaxed, warm. Staff were friendly but reserved, felt like a place that ran on it's own time. Perfect in my opinion, as some pubs can feel like they are rushing you out the door. Food was good for myself and staff very attentive to my intolerance to milk, food was safe with no issues. Tasty, good portions and hot. Others in my group struggled with dishes such as belly pork being overdone, but the majority were very pleased and well fed. Given how loud our group was I was very thankful to the staff for their patience and speed of service, well worth the service charge we paid. Will visit again!

Lovely old farm house. The breakfast had good quality produce and tasty. Although it was not very warm. Evening meal was one of the best pub meals I have had in a long time. Unfortunately the room was not particularly clean. Dust on the skirting boards, door and door frame. Only takes a few seconds to wipe down.

The stay was faultless. Easy check in and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and the place seems very well managed. Ample good parking and well located for easy driving to Knaresborough and Harrogate. York is easily accessible by train from Knaresborough. Lovely, extensive building full of old oak beams and different drinking/dining areas. Rooms are well sized, clean with good facilities. Room pricing (everywhere) seems to have become more extensive with numerous booking options and room rates quite variable (even winter, week to week). We seem to have benefitted from what we imagine were all the doubles being booked, though we don't actually know. We (2 of us) paid for/booked a 'double room', which turned out to also be the 'family quad room' same room pictured on website. No complaints that way round obviously but I presume it would have been unlucky if we had booked the family room in the first place. I think showing images of the actual room offered rather than 'a typical double' is better but few establishments do that. What ever room you book, a great stay will be had and I/we highly recommend The Kestrel and all staff.

Great pub with excellent range of beer and gin. Very cosy. Perfect location for our golf trip. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Great value for b and b. The room was comfortable, very clean, well presented. The bathroom was equally clean and well presented. Our only slightly negative comments were with a room overlooking the road traffic noise was an issue. Room insulation and creaking floor need some improvement. We could hear the people in the room next to us very clearly.

Very lovely and cosy! I have stayed in the past with my mum and it turned out I stayed in the same room again what was lovely, staff are great, caring and kind, I had to miss the breakfast due to meeting but I know the breakfast was amazing on my last visit! I will definitely be back if I am ever in town. Great get away place to stay. Thank you
