My hubby and I visited with my mum for a mid week lunch having not been for many years - what a fabulous place, great range of beers, friendly service and scrumptious food…. The menu has something for everyone, good sized portions and very fresh We will definitely be back - thank you
This is now a restaurant only, no hotel facilities. Sunday lunch ran out of roast beef, with only one roast chicken available and no children’s beef burgers. The food we received was nice. Service was generally good, except for one notably abrupt waitress.
My partner and I have just had our wedding ceremony and party at the Bateman's mill, I must say, everything set up absolutely perfectly, we even had a huge hog roast on the spit, the function room set up was planned perfectly with space for the singers and room to shake the tail feather. Great choice of drinks to suit everyone my person favourite being the Boston American gentleman and a good choice of spirits and soft drinks . Came for a Sunday roast with the family. Ambience was pleasant, apart from the wasps outside a put off especially around food and inside a bit the same, flies here and there. Food wasn't exceeding taste expectations not up to par. For example the roast potatoes were dry not fresh and crispy on the out and fluffy inside - so you wonder whether they've been pre cooked from frozen or earlier that day and warmed up! Presentation was good though.
Brilliant food, Venue & Staff! I recently arranged a surprise birthday party here for my partner and booked out the function room upstairs, the staff were brilliant and kept me up to date with everything and provided great service!
We have just had an overnight stay at the Batemans Mill hotel. It was lovely, the food was amazing, our room was just right our 2 dogs enjoyed it too, but most of all can I give a huge shout out to Claire who does a fabulous job looking after everyone. Lovely place to eat. Great staff. They also cater for allergies. I had a really great gluten free Christmas meal here. There was a disco and karaoke on. Great atmosphere.
Very polite staff, but felt it was being run by young inexperienced staff. We had evening meal, food was lovely plates were hot steak was cooked perfect, only downside we waited 1hr for it. In the morning we went for breakfast at 8.45, we has to be at Chatsworth for 10 for our slot for the Christmas theme, well we ordered sat there again 25mins no breakfast and another couple had asked where there breakfast was, the waitress went into the kitchen to tell the chef i heard them ranting because we had asked where it was, in the end we left with no breakfast, im a cook there is no way a breakfast takes over 25mins so we were very disappointed to say the least
A lovely mill at the edge of town with more than sufficient parking at rear. Ideally placed for excursions around the peak district. My only down side was the shower. The choice of ales is ever changing and the meals are both lovely and substantial. The breakfasts are quality goods and large portions. We would gladly return here again.
