Just back from a 3 night Birthday break at the Riverside, first time there and it certainly won’t be the last . Amazing food and staff and a special mention for Carlos who looked after us so brilliantly! Could not recommend this hotel more highly See you soon Rob and Brenda
my wife and i have stayed at Rafters 3 times now and we absolutely love it. great location, peaceful and quiet, all of the staff are super friendly and always have a smile. breakfast is amazing, evening meals are fantastic and the bread before the meal is my favourite. we'll be booking again next year to visit in the spring and the summer. ideal location to visit many surrounding towns. thanks guys, Steve & Adela
Wow. Beautiful Hotel set in a stunning location. Room was so clean and comfortable. Staff couldn't of been any more friendlier. We didn't eat here in the evening as it was late Sunday afternoon. I can only imagine the food is amazing judging on the Beautiful 3 course breakfast. Everything we ate was divine. From the bread to the fresh eggs. Well done Guys you made us feel so welcome.
Had an amazing night at the Riverside House Hotel. The service was impeccable, the food delicious and the rooms comfortable. We stayed in the Rafters room which was well equipped and extremely stylish, with a fantastic ensuite which had jack and jill basins and a roll top bath. Overall this place is absolutely awesome, it's a little on the pricey side (for us normal folk!), however as a special treat I think it is well worth the money. Will definitely be back again!
Absolute perfection in every way! We had a celebration brunch for 16 people at Rafters today and everything was outstanding from start to finish. We had a beautiful private dining room, which was a fabulous surprise- we were well and truly spoiled . The service was warm and professional, and from the moment we arrived we knew we were in good hands! The food was delicious and the portion sizes were just right. We will definitely be back- thank you so much to the whole team for such a lovely morning.
My partner and me have stayed a couple of times at this restaurant with rooms... the service from when one enters, until one leaves, is always warm and helpful, but above all, friendly. The food is worth the trip alone. If you're not staying over in one of their smart, comfortable rooms, you could always just book to dine here. But I'd advise on staying, to get the best for your experience. And the breakfast. If you're a foodie who likes to be spoilt, then treat yourself. We plan to come back when we want to recharge and relax... what better way than with fabulous food, a little tipple, and great service. All wrapped up within a scenic location.
We loved it here. I thought the menu was very well judged and just the right balance of modern fine dining with a little bit of country comfort. Lovely staff - whereas most places are short staffed, Rafters seemed to have an abundance of brilliant people. The only things I think they could work on are the gardens and the rooms/bathrooms a little bit, but there were so many things they excelled at we were very happy. Finally, worth mentioning that breakfast was a triumph and the location could not be any better.
There are lots of positive comments about the food, which I would completely echo but I specifically wanted to say something about the staff, who truly make the place. There is a relaxed but consistent dress code (white shirt and jeans) which everyone wears, from the owners to reception to waiting staff to the domestics- it says something about the place in that everyone's contribution to making the place a success is valued. Every single member of staff we met was friendly, welcoming, accommodating, professional and relaxed. They have employed some youngsters who were equally excellent and were obviously being trained well in customer service. So whilst the food was magnificent, the staff made the Riverside further elevated this hotel- many others could learn from their approach. Well done everyone.
Stunning hotel set In beautiful gardens. The staff were welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. The bedroom was very well appointed and comfy. Unfortunately we stayed on one of the hottest nights of the year and even though a very modern fan was supplied it really didn’t cut it. The breakfast was amazing, with all the produce being locally sourced it was a real treat to wake up to. We would certainly go back, highly recommended.
