   Love the hotel but we were not told how to get in when the restaurant was shut... no need to tell you how... walking round trying to find a way in on a cold rainy night is not good!

   Stayed for six nights. Beautiful and relaxing stay. Very courteous staff, always eager to help with a smile. Delicious freshly cooked food. Though famous for Steak, vegetarian options were also good. Enjoyed long walks in the countryside. Would love to come again!

   It was a lovely visit- we booked for a friends surprise 50th birthday which was unfortunately cancelled, but we managed to rearrange booking dates so that the stay coincided with my wife's birthday. Our first visit to Miller and Carter and we thought the rooms were very nice - everything we needed and warm and clean. Our first meal at M&C too, and it was delicious. I especially loved the onion bread! Breakfast was fabulous. Oh the staff were - without exception - really friendly and helpful

   Our room was immaculate, so warm and cosy. All staff were wonderful, I cannot recommend enough. The hotel and restaurant were very busy but so well run and our room was very quiet and relaxing.

   Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, pleasant room with all the comforts you'd expect. Bit concerned there was no internal lock on the room door, also would have preferred a bath rather than just a shower room. Food was excellent though.

   We stayed for 1 night mid October. The room was standard, it was cold so I had to turn the heating on (windows had been left open). The ceiling had watermarks like they'd had a leak above but no-one bothered to repaint. The pillows were comfy. The en suite was not great. The sink took ages to drain so when cleaning our teeth, you can imagine what happened. It was sat there a while before it drained away. The bathroom mirror apparently had a light but this didn't work. The toilet paper was rough and cheap. We used the tissues instead as they were much softer. We got back to the room about 10.30pm after a night out, went to the bar to get a drink but were told no. Back in the room I wanted a shower. This was luke warm, not what you want when you've come in from the rain and are already cold. On departure, we weren't asked how our stay was. Not a very welcoming place to stay. Totally over priced. We won't be staying again.

   Hotel was good, rooms were lovely. Only issues were the second floor has no lift access, of which I failed to consider or was aware of. My parents are quite old and had I know I would’ve preferred to have easier access for them. I did wonder if I’d missed something on the booking form and had they been disabled it would’ve been a greater issue, though under those circumstances I accept that I would have made more effort to check and confirm. The second issue was booking for two groups, having to book twice separately and pay twice seemed unnecessary and I would have preferred to select two rooms and book once.

   Staff were excellent, really friendly in the restaurant and on reception. Whole place well set out. Room was very big and comfortable. Only problem we had was shower didn't drain fast enough to keep up with flow of water and overflowed on full power.
